My friend just saw them at Sounds of the Underground and said their new stuff was AMAZING live so it shouldn't be too bad. They did play a lot off Hot Damn! though.

Comeback Kid's new CD was good but not great. Bane's was good but not great. What else came out this year? As I Lay Dying's was decent but eh, not close to great. Evergreen Terrace is just crap so I won't even listen to their stuff. Norma Jean's new stuff is pretty terrible. And yes, that's my negative criticism for the time being.

Isis, Neurosis and Converge. I'm not going to mention Isis' stuff because there is no negative criticism. They're just amazing front and back, especially Panopticon.

As for Converge, nothing can top Jane Doe so You Fail Me is obviously not going to be mentioned.

But yes, all the bands I mention suck fucking balls.

And YES, Bane sucks so much ass, so much that they're ***atrons. Modern Life is War as well. You ever hear of them? Don't think so. Keep listening to Coldplay.

Actually, I saw Modern Life is War not even three weeks ago, when they opened for Comeback Kid.
Why I was at that show, I have no idea. I was bored, and it was cheap. The thing is, in case you cant tell from the things that I post around here, almost all of my friends are old school hardcore kids, so I know about all of these bands. I also give my friends shit for it, because most of the bands that play that style suck.
Ill give you that Bane is good live, but on their CD, theyre fucking unlistenable.

Coldplay is awesome. Theres nothing wrong with good pop songwriting.

The question was is it going to suck, not is it going to be less good than their previous stuff, or disappointing, or somethign to that effect. I don't think it will be their best CD yet, or even close, but it will still be better than a lot of what else is out there in similar genres.

That sounds like the Omaha scene. Im personally more interested in experimental metal, but I go to the hardcore shows because thats really all I know... thats what I grew up with.

Neurosis is very similiar to ISIS, but a little bit more electronic.

By the way, I dont see alot of difference in the vocals between Bane and CBK. CBK just has more gang vocals, which I hate with a passion.

Bands can have killer breakdowns. Dillinger Escape Plan is a key example. They have some killer breakdowns. And in Floater, the end, killer. It's just how it's used, where it's used, and anything extra added to it (like a high note or something.)
