Lupe Quits Hip-Hop for Punk Rock...

January 07, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com just spoke with an EXTREMELY well connected hip hop insider who claims that rapper Lup Fiasco is set to give up on hip hop.

According to the exec, the talented lyricist is instead moving onto his second love - PUNK ROCK. According to MediaTakeOut.com's insider Lupe is planning on joining the band Japanese Cartoons - whom Lupe has been associated with in the past.

And get this. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com that the Chicago rapper's giving up on the name "Lupe Fiasco." He plans to go by the name Percival Fat.

Sounds a bit odd. But his rap career seemed like it was going NOWHERE ... so it might be a good move...
