I suppose they should be positive, but Seventy Times Seven by Brand New iis a pretty good example of an awesome song that is definitely NOT about the good side of friendship, especially when your friend fucks your life up. I think the ataris have a lot of songs about friendship... which is a good balance to the whining about not finding love.
