I think that first and foremost he needs to be realistic with the economy and realize that big business and the government need to have more separation between one another. If major corporations are cooking the books or not being responsible in their ventures they need to suffer the consequences when it all comes falling down. The government needs to step back in the long run and let businesses be responsible and not bail them out.
If you stabilize the economy, and everyone is able to live their lives without fear of financial meltdown then that eliminates the problems with recession, inflation and corrupt big business. With these problems at bay we can focus on energy problems and alternative energy solutions, which in turn will get us out of the Middle East, and get us out of the oil addiction.
It took GWB eight years to get us in this mess, it quite possibly could take Obama eight years to get us back on our feet.

Second: Infrastructure. Our roads, highways and bridges have been neglected for years. Not only will it create good family wage jobs, but it will also ease congestion and make roads safer. A lasting investment is always a good idea.
Third: Close the damn border. I’m not a xenophobe, but c’mon. Enough is enough.

I love when people, but bands specifically, say things like this. It shows how ignorant they truly are. It doesn't matter which way you lean, the problems we face now are no particular person (or parties) fault. There is plenty of blame to go around. People thinking this is just Bush's fault are severly mistaken. I like how Nick's quote was well thought out, and at the end he put this one line in to appeal to his base who truly can't think for themselves and thnk that george Bush came into office and sat down with this grand plot to cripple our economy and fuck shit up. Quit sipping the kool-aid.

I also didn’t enjoy the fact that so many people trash-talked President Bush. He’s our leader and deserves respect, no matter how much you disagree with his policies. So I’ve made it a point in my life to support whoever is president and not to speak any slander about him, because he is worthy of respect. Maybe that’s the most radical idea anyone’s presented in politics this year, huh?

Finally, someone in this scene with civility.
