Don’t Let The Medicine Talk

You wake up early just to take your morning pills
You wash them down with alcohol
You notice that your reflection is ten times duller than the day before
And you feel awkward
And you feel silent
And you feel like no one cares
But the world moves on with out you
And pays no notice, to your depression

I once knew a boy like this
I once knew a girl like this
I once had a friend like this
I once had a family like this

So don’t let the medicine talk for you
And don’t let the pills become your tongue
Don’t push other things aside
And don’t push others aside

Pill by pill they took their souls away
He could no longer paint the pictures he was know for painting
She could no longer write that sweet, sweet poetry that she loved
And when their on this medication
It takes away from everything else
And when they lack this medication
They are better

I once knew a boy like this
I once knew a boy like this
I once knew a girl like this
I once knew a girl like this
I once had a friend like this
I once had a friend like this
I once had a family like this
I once had a family like this

And I once was like this
