The Real World: Brooklyn

So I caught the first episode of the 21st season of the Real World. It was pretty good, not much happened. But this cast is actually a very diverse mix of people. I don't forsee much hooking up going on since people are not that attractive except the model and the chick devyn (sp?). The transgender girl is still taking getting used to but I think there is going to be a lot of good interactions between this cast.

So let's hear your comments about this first episode and what the season will be like.

A: last season did JUST end over the past summer. They apparently have a machine just pumping out new seasons of this show.

I think you're right on that. There will be minimal if any hooking up between the cast members. 3 have relationships, one's gay, one's a morman. I can only see baya, devyn and scott hooking up because they're the most attractive people in the house.

I think so, too since Ryan has a girlfriend, Chet is Morman, Katelynn is transgender, JD is gay, and Sarah, the girl with the tatoos, has a boyfriend (I think thats her name). Plus you could tell Devyn was really attracted to Scott from the time she saw him, so I think that they may definitely get together.

this is true, i went to the casting call for the show in portland and they specifically said that they were going for a lot less of the typical drunken frat guy style of the show and wanted people that were more conservative and also lead environmentally friendly lifestyles

He recently received the designation of having the "best abs on the East Coast", and was featured in Men's Health magazine. The first in his family to graduate from college, he educates the public on health and fitness with his website

J.D - 22 - J.D. is a from an abusive home at thirteen. He feels it made him an stronger, independent person. He put himself through school at the University of Miami, and now works as a dolphin trainer, a dream job he first envisioned in a trip to SeaWorld at age five. A high school competitive swimmer, he became one of the youngest dolphin trainers at Miami Seaquarium at nineteen. He is a gay man who came out to his parents at age sixteen, and because of this, he immediately bonds with Katelynn, who reveals her transgender status only to him in the premiere

Sarah - 22 - Sarah is an artist who suffered a traumatic upbringing that included sexual abuse, and has dedicated herself as an educator and advocate for survivors of abuse, using art and creative therapy. She hopes to show her art in a gallery, and recently began a relationship with a man to whom her mother introduced her, one of her first heterosexual relationships, as most of her prior ones were with women. Devyn - 20 - Devyn was Miss American Teen in 2005, and a Miss Missouri Teen. She is active in social and environmental causes

I had a class with him and he was 'that guy' that sat in the front making jokes about the teacher and looking around the room to see if anyone was laughing at him right after he said it. Oh, and they definitely touch up his face, because his skin is awful, breakouts like whoa.

on a slightly related note, the best moment of the night was after dance-chick came out of her audition and got in the car. It showed the black chick in the passenger seat and she had the funniest face on that i have ever seen on anyone

Actually, last night was the first episode I watched, so that was my initial impression of the guy. When they were showing his video clips of him in the desert, he just kept looking at the camera with that frat boy mentality of "Hey look at me!" That really bugged me -- I think the gay guy (don't know his name) is the most level-headed dude out of them all. At least he's chill. That Chet guy is certainly more obnoxious and arrogant, I just get the feeling Ryan thinks he's cooler than he really is.

That tampon song was not funny at all, but you could tell he thought he was so witty when he sang it.

it is true that he didn't do anything illegal, that's not the point. but she said it was 8 years ago, she is probably between 22 and 25 which means her dad did this when she was 14-17. One sleeping bag is the creepiest thing ever in that situation. Bottom line is that we don't really know anything, but she seems genuine and her dad seems creepy, so i'm gonna side with her
