Oh...and staying with Almost Famous...I love the part where Zooey sits the family down to listen to "America" by Simon & Garfunkel to explain why she's leaving home to become a stewardess.

Hands down has to be blink182-Mutt during the scene when Shannon Elizabeth masturbates in American Pie. Mainly because they show the band playing the song in a garage.

if you watch the movie with commentary on, Wes Anderson says a good deal of the film was built around this scene
Broken Parachute

The closing credits of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Why the credits? Well, after that movie was over I think the tone was very ominous. Like...what's next to come? I think "Gollum's Song" by Emiliana Torrini was absolutely perfect. The song was just so haunting. I watched the credits until the song was over the first time I saw it. I still love the song.
