Verizon/Cingular Cell Phone Recommendations? [Archive]

Im switching over from T-Mobile (service is horrible) to either Cingular or Verizon

I live in New Jersey, to give you an idea of the service, and both companies have outstanding coverage in my area

But, i dont know which phone i want

So far, my picks are

Cingular: Sony Ericsson S710

Verizon: Moto E815

Tell me if my picks are okay, and if not, which ones i should get

i would go with the cingular...i had great service until my phone got outdated...and that's the phone i'm looking to get...

btw...fuck t-mobile...worst service provider since carrier pigeons.

get the RAZR.

any phone beside a motorola phone is a piece of shit and if you uses one you may as well carry around a pay phone.

if you don't like the RAZR, wait for the PEBL.

it costs $199 now. the PEBL is a new motorola phone coming out.

razr is cingular exclusive. i mean, you can get an unlocked razr that will work with any GSM service provider . . . but every razr will work with cingular.

hmm....i was hoping to go with the sony ericsson but no one seems to comment on that...at the moment i have a T610...the only reason i got that was because of its bluetooth, which id like to have in a phone, unless it has a removable memory card...

i MIGHT get the razr...i heard it was far too easy to break though...so im not sure...

I have a Motorola v550 (I think it is.)

Its alright. When I got it back last winter it was the best one right under the Razr

I have Verizon and Ive been pretty happy with it. I hear good things about Cingular too. Think about who you'll call alot and what service they have though, cause then its free to call them. I like Verizon because most of my friends have it and I can call them for free.

i'd get verizon..but they're pricks, and said i didn't have enough credit...yet when i went to get a new car, they approved me...so i had to get cingular...and i think the service is just as good on cingular or verizon, as long as your phone is newer.

too bad i have 2400 rollover minutes.OWNED.

Yea, I rack up the rollover minutes cuz all my friends have Cingular. And my ex worked for them, so I got the hookup on phones.

I have AT&T/Cingular and it's been alright. I think their whole deal about having amazing coverage is kind of bullshit though.

well if you take a look at the coverage maps (i just did)...it looks like for the state of NJ, they are pretty much equal, and now its just a matter of who gives me the better deal (and who has the better phone)

rite now, cingular is looking good with phones

ya but I'm not a big phone user...mostly for emergencies...I can't think of a situation where I'd be on the phone for more than five minutes

but I was looking at the rates and it is a rip off. 15 cents a minute?? bleh

when you say A ericsson, does that mean the one i mentioned before, or just any ericsson in general

**addition**...i just noticed that the Razr only has 5.5 mb of embedded memory..whats up with that...thats gonna get me no where...the ericsson has 32 mb duo sony memory stick in it...and is expandable..for the same price, id take the sony any day...sorry moto...
Hmm well i've only had mine and i cant remember the model but mines is slightly older its not the same as yours...and mines sucks...so im not sure what you should get.

yeah, okay then, if i do infact go with cingular, im gonna get the S710a....

its got bluetooth, 1.3 mp camera, cool rotation thingy, huge memory, mp3 player, and all for the same price of the razr, at 199 if i choose the plan....
