The Record That Started It All For The Militia Group (www.themilitiagroup.com)...

For The Militia Group, it's been a diverse and speed-of-light paced first four years of being a label. Rufio (www.rufiomusic.com)'s debut full-length "Perhaps, I Suppose..." came out in 2001, and made a giant splash for Militia. In a sea of floundering independent (and even major) labels making fruitless strides to succeed, this record made it much easier for the Southern California label to make their start. Rufio's debut has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide and remains the #1 best selling cd on Interpunk.com ever!

So here we are four years later, right in the midst of Rufio gearing up for their third full-length album with Nitro Records and The Militia Group still fervently working to solidify their spot as the go-to label for anything you're looking for in good music. So what does The Militia Group do? They re-release the fan-favorite and instant success "Perhaps, I Suppose..." And this time with 5 bonus tracks, re-mixed, re-mastered and re-packaged as the Gold/Deluxe Edition!

100,000 COPIES!??!?!?! When I saw this earlier today, I couldn't believe it. Is that really true, and if so, wouldnt they be a LOT bigger than they are now?

My favorite moment: I went to a local show for the heck of it. Rufio happened to be on the bill that night. That night they announced they were signing to The Militia Group. That was my gateway drug to this scene and one of the coolest moments ever looking back.

5 years ago, and worldwide. 100,000 is not that big buts its more than some can claim.
These guys were my first real shows considering im a young one in seventh grade i used to go to skrappys to see these guys play and there would be like me two of my friends and like five other people. everytime they came the crowd doubled it was awesome watching them grow. its the only band i can truly say that about.

it's not gold or nearly platinum, but 100,000 cd's for a band not on a major label is definitely very impressive. Damn i would like to be in a band that sold that much...

the militia group is up there with equal vision records as the two best pure (minus distribution) independant labels today. i am really tired of the re-issues though. it is so obvious that the militia group is just capitilizing on the band's sucess and the anticipation for their new album to make an easy buck. this has become a very obnoxious and all too frequent practice of indie labels.

I feel bad that I haven't even had a chance to open their new album, but I have not been able to stop listening to the new AAR. Fucking love that album....I loved them before but was very suprised on how much better they got....

I think Ill go give the new Rufio a listen now...even if there isnt a giant R on the cover.

This CD is most definitely one of my fave pop punk albums ever. I've been listening to all things Rufio the past couple of days to get me in the mood for Comfort Of Home which I'm getting later. To be fair I'm really looking forward ton the re-release and hearing it mixed, especially the bonus tracks. Does anyone know if they actually recorded the album after 1985? The one they wrote but didn't release cause it sounded too similar or something? I'd still buy it.
