Between the Buried and Me's latest cd was surprisingly good

Colors is one of the most diverse albums I own.
Amazing record.
Remember the part in Ants in the Sky when it goes from heavy chugging to this bluesy jazz feel? Then it transitions into that country mandolin stuff which transitions into this awesome melodic guitar? So weird...but so perfect!
Only BtBam could do that. Save for maybe Dream Theater.

I think that's why i like it. I'm usually not really a "metal" listener, but i would consider myself a musically well rounded person, and like weird, different, diverse music.

This is a survival guide for if ever you find yourself near many scene kids or a scene kid try's to talk to you. This will be helpful at many tours such as Warped, Bamboozle, and others. It will also help you in the scary instance that you find yourself confronted by a scene kid.

Without further ado, here are the tips:

Don't listen to shitty scene bands such as: The Millionaries, Jeffree Star, 3Oh!3, BrokeNCYDE, Hypercrush, Metro Station, and many others. If you don't listen to these bands, talk fondly about these bands, or waste your money on their concert tickets, you will not have to witness or take part of the cult like ritual they like to call a 'show.'
Carry water and a crucifix with you wherever you go. If ever you are confronted by a scene kid(s), dump the water on their heads. This will cause their makeup to run, their hair to flatten down from their ridiculous bedheads, and quite possibly them to drown in their excess of makeup and overuse of hairspray. If the scene kid is tricky and wears waterproof makeup, immediately pull out your crucifix for this will cause the scene kids skin to feel like it is burning and make them scream like a wild banshee.
Know good bands. If there is one thing scene kids cannot stand it's good bands and actual talent. Always, and I mean always, be prepared with the name of a band with actual talent. If you begin to talk about this band fondly, the scene kid will be forced to turn and run in horror.
NOTE: In rare cases of a hybrid scene kid, they know one or two good bands, and are immune to this attack. In this case you should turn and run away as fast as possible.
Don't constantly wear bright clothing, this attracts them like mosquito's to a light.
If none of the above work, the only thing left to do is turn and run. Don't worry about them running after you, that is much to hard to do in super skinny jeans and they are much to afraid to, even if they are not dressed in the usual attire of skinny jeans, because of fear of their makeup running.Use the tips well, they could one day save your life.

Nachtmystium's first album, Reign of the Malicious, was released on Unholy Records (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unholy_Records), a National Socialist black metal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_black_metal) label.[19] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nachtmystium#cite_note-nsbm-18) In 2006, Judd said that, “In the past, we’ve had some indirect ties to labels and bands that are part of the NS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Nazi) scene. At one point not too many years ago, it wasn’t uncommon for NS labels or bands to trade and work with non-politically motivated bands and labels because at the end of the day, we’re all trying to promote, release, and be involved with music—all politics aside. Today it seems like there’s less of a connection, at least for me and my label. We don’t oppose people’s right to be ‘NS’ or whatever—that’s a personal choice, and if you live in the USA, you have the right to that opinion. Even though I personally, my band(s) and my label have absolutely no interest in being a part of that scene, I will ALWAYS take their side when it comes to their freedom of speech being imposed upon.”[19] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nachtmystium#cite_note-nsbm-18)

I mean, Burzum fucking killed a guy and he's reknowned. I don't hear people getting NEARLY as worked up about that sorta thing.

to be perfectly honest, I don't know. I've never really paid a whole lot of attention to Slayer's lyrics. I like the vocal stylings, but it's just kinda passed through me. I love teh thrashxorz

I mean, Burzum fucking killed a guy and he's reknowned. I don't hear people getting NEARLY as worked up about that sorta thing.

Just me being a bitch, but Burzum is the project name. Varg is the guy.

I've been getting back into the old school Swedish death metal sound lately (Entombed, Grave, Dismember, etc) and luckily there has been a revival of that type of music lately. Dead Congregation, Necrovation, DeathevokatioN, and Unconsecrated are all well worth checking out if you dig that shit.

I'd skip my own funeral for that show.
I had planned on trying to get a table for my radio show at the show when I had first heard about it and all I knew about was Mastodon, but when I found out about Neurosis and all that jazz I decided not to even bother. No way am I going to skip those bands to sit at a fucking table hahaha.

Ah, Terrifyer, as far as I can tell, is their "flagship" effort. It's a really really really great grind album. It came with I think an audio DVD with the song "Natasha" on it, which is basically 37 minutes of pure murk. I don't know if Destroyer is still packaged with that, because I've seen "Natasha" packaged by itself. I'll extract and upload if you guys are interested for realsies.
