Have you seen the trailer? You don't think it looks pretty good?

Oh man, and the director directed Hardcore, that movie was awesome.

I do. I like that Garret Dillahunt is in it. I just try not to even form an opinion on remakes until after I've seen them at this point. I've been let down by so many good horror trailers.

Looks good to me. Who is covering Sweet Child of Mine at the end?

Not seen the original but it does look good but I haven't enjoyed a new horror movie for a long time so I will wait before I start getting excited.

Except you could easily tell that movie would suck from the trailer.

trailer didn't impress me too much until the last scene where the guy was paralyzed with his head in a microwave...

but then i realised microwaves dont work with the door open.

Yes but good 70s exploitation (see: I Spit on Your Grave) films were entertaining as well, even if they were fucking sick (the castration scene makes me sick every time I think about it).

Yeah, I am going to go with you on this one. Especially because the scene in the spoiler tags. Truly gross, just to be so.

I'm not sure how you call LHotL sick just to be sick and then call I Spit On Your Grave good.

I Spit On Your Grave is the worst film ever made. It is poorly acted and poorly directed for a 70s exploit film... and that is saying something. LHotL is fucking classic.

You should have at least mentioned Thriller - En Grym Film or Combat Shock, those were fucked up films that actually had merit.

I want to see it just because it's a horror movie pretty much. I hated the original one, but the story is a unique one so the remake could turn out okay.

I was gonna see this with my mom tonight but I think I'm going to the gym instead. I dont get the logic that goes behind parents taking their kids to see these kinds of movies, but when I was little my mom took me to see crazy ass movies all the time.

It was awesome. I have no idea in the whole world why ANYONE would take a kid to see that movie though. At my theater, we had to read a 'disclaimer' before purchasing our tickets. I liked the movie, it was sweet. Unrealistic but sweet.

The movie was decent, I'm guessing they left cause its Utah/Rape scene.

Montauk1222
03/14/09, 08:33 PM
just got back from seeing this, thought it was a really good movie, didn't care for the dead brother storyline because that went nowhere other than the necklace scene and the rape scene was a real uncomfortable scene

Montauk1222

Hahaha. For real, this movie isn't bad at all in terms of "shocking" stuff. I would be willing to bet its purely to do with the rape scene, otherwise yeah I agree it was mild on the scale of shocking gore and violence.

I haven't seen this, but in EW, Stephen King rated it as his #2 of the year and said, "This film is on par with The Silence of the Lambs."

lol?

its not the worst recent 'remake,' that prize goes to Halloween, but its hardly one of the best. boring, slow, unsuspenseful. just a really bland, forgettable release. no one will remember it in a year.

that's not to say the original is anything great, but it deserved better than this. king's smoking something even mentioning it next to Silence of the Lambs.

drudo182
01/02/10, 09:27 PM
King did state it was beautiful shot, which it was, but it was hard for me to sit through it and enjoy it. Not too bad but I wouldn't watch it again.

King also stated that Revolutionary Road was bad and had The Reader at number four saying that Kate Winslet had the best performance that he saw this year. RR was great and The Reader was an average film at best.
