I've been trying to decide lately, who has the better super heroes/ super villains, Marvel or DC?
Marvel on one side has superheroes such as Spiderman, The Hulk, Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, The Avengers, Iron Man, Ghost Rider,The Punisher, Daredevil, and Thor.
While DC has superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, The Green Lantern, and of course, The Justice League.
So is it DC or Marvel?

I have a batman waterbottle, and I use it with my spiderman lunch box (true story). So I clearly appreciate them both.

i've always hated this argument.

both have their share of great books. both have their share of horrible books.

I prefer Marvel...

Also, the thought of an Avengers movie makes my pants tighter.

In my opinion, the best of DC beats the best of Marvel, but Superman and Wonder Woman, as landmark titles, have such high cheese factors, that I can't confidently proclaim "DC!"

Marvel all the way!!!

The only good things about DC is Batman and The Flash.

Though, if we're talking ALL of DC, and by that, I mean VERTIGO, then no contest. Vertigo is THE best comic publisher, hands down.

I love Batman. With that being said, though, I think Marvel is much, much better overall.

I agree with both of Bob Payne's posts, although lately I've been reading more Marvel (but I've almost stopped reading new comics altogether).

Marvel mainly because their characters have more of a personality than those of the DC universe. Dont get me wrong here, DC has some pretty kick ass heroes (i mean batman, can anyone really top him..no) but the fact remains that many of them are bland compared to their Marvel counterparts.

Bendis is amazing, therefore, Marvel, but I do love Green Lantern.

Superman, Batman, The Flash & The Green Lantern > *Sadly, that sums up all that interests me in the DCU. That's why I'd go with Marvel.

Also, when it comes to villians, I only think of Batman's, where I could think of a lot of Marvel Heroes archnemesis'.

I used to love Bendis, but over the years I guess I've kind of grown tired of him. His writing style is so distinctive that he's almost become a one-trick-pony at this point.

Depends on what you like. As senatorlamb used to say, if you want your characters to be really relatable, then clearly Marvel is better, for its darker characters. But if you want Modern American Mythology, DC wins hands down.

BUT, DC wins because of its villains. Darkseid is probably one of the scariest villains ever. And there are no Marvel villains as iconic as Lex Luthor or The Joker.

And these results are not surprising.
