Problems with Remo Pinstripes

Okay so here it goes... I use Clear Remo pinstripes on the toms, Powerstroke 3 for the bass, and a Coated C-S Emp for the snare. ***Problem*** my 12X10 always sounds like im hitting a cheap piece of plastic. Ounce and awhile ill get it tuned to a nice solid B...but im always having trouble with it. Should i try out a Clear Evans G-2?

I generally like Evans heads a lot better. I used to use the coated ones, and I loved them. Right now, I think I'm using the clear hydraulic ones. Good stuff...
