According to one source (www.punktastic.com), The Blood Brothers (http://thebloodbrothers.com/noflash.html) have parted ways to pursue side projects. Let's hope this one source doesn't know what they're talking about.

well there's Neon Blonde, and I suppose Waxwing never officially broke up, so it's definetly plausible- seeing how Blood Bros started as a side project itself anyway.

They're supposed to be playing with Coheed this fall.

The two times I've seen The Blood Brothers, they've been flawless. The instruments have been right on, the vocals were just as they are on the records, and there was just a HUGE amount of energy throughout the entire set. I'd hate to see them break up, but I love Waxwing and wouldn't complain about another record from them either.

not that sounding tight is what makes a band good live, but i saw them live on and watched their dvd and both times, for a band that sounds so fucking spastic and chaotic, they were actually really tight when I saw them.
dont know why people waste their and my time to come to a thread about a band breaking up just to say "this band sucks" but whatever its a free country.
i'll just say that
1. I dont think the rumor is true, at least i havent really heard any strong evidence to support this but i will email them and johny to ask them i guess
2. more trendy? na. unless we're just at a miscommunication of words but theyre def getting more popular and at the same losing fans. many bro dudes that like to beat the shit outta people say the blood brothers new cd isnt hardcore blah blah wah wah. who cares, people bitch about bands sounding the same, people bitch about bands sounding different. what a waste of time.

It's not like bands PLAN to break up..."well, we shouldn't book these tour dates because we have plans to break up in a few weeks". Maybe there was a fight, an argument, whatever. Professionalism has nothing to do with it. I still think its a false rumor however.

This is stupid. To pursue side projects? HWC will never be a full time project. Jp, Gabe, and nick all have their own shit to do(the locust, some girls, holy molar, yeah yeah yeahs, and the running of a label). Neon blonde i doubt will be full time anytime soon. I don't know morgans plans except he has an electronica(or something like it) side project. The point is this is stupid and i am 90% sure its not true, at least not because of side projects.
I also can't see waxwing doing anything soon either. Rocky has his thing, rudy is in gatsby's, cody in bb(supposedly).

this better not be true! along with coheed and another very select few bands they are leading the music world and being more creative than most of the other music that is out there. they are all so tallented and so good and when they play they are so tight and oh man. when i see coheed on thursday and friday and i'm going to try and find out from them if this is true. because if it is, this would be one the biggest loses to music right now.
i hope it's not the true :(

well, the blood brothers have definitely been one of my favorite bands for quite some time now, but i have mixed feelings about this. some people may attack me for this, but i think their time as a band has run it's course and this may be the right move. the band started out as a side project, an experiment. these guy all (used) to have major issues with the idea of being "big" (played on MTV or the radio).
i think they already released their best album in burn piano island, burn and will never be able to duplicate that record. it seemed like every record bulit upon the previous one, and they just kept becoming more and more unique and original and amazing, and then crimes came out. alot of people here feel as though crimes is their best album, but if you really study their progression as a band, you might be as dissapointed by it as i am. it was supposed to continue that progression, not shatter it. for me, it was almost like they totally returned to square one. it still has it's originality and uniqueness, but it's just not the same.
anyway, with that record they got the large fanbase they never used to want, and started hearing massive complaints about their live show. for those of you who have been fan of the blood brothers for a while, you know that their live show used to be the best around. they were one of those bands you had to see live to compliment their sound. the first time i saw them live, my jaw hit the floor and stayed right there until they were done. now it's almost like all that passion and energy was sucked out of them. when i saw them a couple months ago this was blatently obvious. sure they were going through all the motions but that same enrgy just wasn't there. they are bored of this band and of making this music and want to move on to bigger and better things, and i think that is the right thing to do.
i would be surprised if this particular rumor was true though.

point A. the blood brothers are anything BUT trendy
point B. Crimes is absolutely NOT a step back in any way
point C. The Blood Brothers put on a fucking AMAZING live show
point D. If you refuse to believe the progression on Crimes then just read the lyric sheets
point E. I love all of thier albums so if they breakup I will fucking die

That'd be rad, but since Rudy is in Gatsby's now I'd rather see him stay in Gatsby's making music.
point A. the blood brothers are anything BUT trendy
the blood brothers are trendy as hell, are you kidding? it's such a scenester trend to own that black hoodie with the red horse on it...everybody has it...even people I know that can't stomach the blood brothers actual music. so many 16 year old girls love the blood bros, especially here in Seattle..it's a gigantic trend. sorry.
point B. Crimes is absolutely NOT a step back in any way
Yes it was. I liked it, but it wasn't half the album Burn Piano Island, Burn waspoint C. The Blood Brothers put on a fucking AMAZING live show
i'll give you that.

I'd consider the blood brothers more like sass-core. I don't really see them as hardcore.

i cant wait for the Head Wound City stuff to come out. that'll be fucking awesome.
the neon blonde shit is alright, not a whole lot diff from the blood brothers music. it's hard to listen to another band with Johnny singing. it just reminds me of the blood brothers so much.

they proberly didnt break up but i think this erupted some feelings for me about this band. ive loved the blood brothers for awhile. burn piano island and this adueltry is ripe are two of my favorite albums and the first time i saw the blood brothers it was beautiful. church basement and just a pile a kids around jordan laying on the stage beat as shit screaming "raise the fuckin flag, the flag of mutiny" seen them two times since that and each time it got bigger. i liked crimes alot an i def can see thats how they wanted to go, and i love them for doing their thing but when jordan trys to get in the crowd to scream with the fans an he is being held up by body guards it just loses soemthign bout their live shows.
i hope they make the right direction as a band, i know they will

you're all a bunch of tards.
"we're the blood brothers. it's the late 90's. lets release rumors laid to waste, along with a couple other great albums. now let's release burn piano island, burn, our greatest album. our shows are awesome, and are at small venues without bouncers and bullshit. ok... now, let's release a shitty dancy album that is totally lacking in talent, and play to sold out theatres 20 feet from the audience, with 50 fat asshole bouncers keeping our fans away from us. give us the money, give us your money, make us fucking rich."
saw them twice back when they were decent and fun. now? i wouldn't waste my money or time.
