How does everyone think they'll fare in 05/06? Personally if they do add Dooling after that i don't think he's going to be as much of an impact player as everyone seems to be making him out to be. Every net met fan makes it sound like getting him gives you this amazing bench presence. He's good, and he'll help, but i think there are some better candidates out there. I think they'll do pretty well if they are able to pick up Abdur-Rahim...maybe final round of the playoffs? Any opinions?

if the nets pick up rahim, they will go up against Miami for the eastern coference...winning it in game 6 if i can predict it that far

You think so? As much as i like Miami, i dont think their line up goes much beyond wade and shaq, unless im forgetting someone...haslem's okay and there are a few others that are okay...the nets have no hope of ever getting a center to defend him so just let him drop his 30. it's nice to see someone predict them going decently far. im just wondering if krstic will have a sophomore slump

sophomore slump? nah....MAYBE if they pick up rahim he will...for lineup reasons left unheard of in this post...

and yeah, i hate shaq...probably more than anyone else in the world...but hes dominant...he doesnt really have any skill whatsoever...all he does is post up his 55452 lb body and lay it up or dunk is over someone...i mean look at the guy...his FG shooting sucks....my grandma hits more freethrows than he does...and hes the cockiest guy in the league

ANYWAY...all that being said...if miami gets a leg up on the eastern conference like they did this year...an easy postseason schedule can match them up with NJ....god willing the Nets get that far...

oh god thats what ive been saying about shaq for the past 5 years and ive gotten nothing but crap for it...thats EXACTLY what i said...he never puts up a shot from a few feet away, at most you'll occassionally get the hook...he has that "i'm gunna fake out and do my tongue-out, legs up dunk on your back-up center" move....i COMPLETELY agree with you...

i think they need a solid center to at least road block shaq. i think Jefferson, Carter, and Kidd are great as it is. If they can get dooling on the cheap, i think that would be great. not to say that Abdur Rahim wouldn't be fine. just not sure he's worth the money.

...which doesn't matter, because im reading that the nets did sign him, and it's expected to be official this weekend.

the got abdur rahim at a bargain price though. it was a total steal. sure, hes not at his best, but thats still 16 points and 8 rebounds a game. even if those dip slightly, the nets should show more promise...and Krstic isnt that bad a center

PF....and yeah, he isnt too shabby at all...in couple years he could be the next big thing...especially with Martin being traded and all

And yeah, Rahim is going to shape the nets up, mainly on defence, just to have that big man presence to size up the lineup

i don't think they'll be any better. too many big heads. everyone says they want to win, but bringing him could be a bad idea. i think it's just going to be trouble.

i actually think they're a pretty modest team, outside of kidd. Abdur-Rahim is coming for less money, which is already a rareity in sports. Carter played very level-headed and happy to be on the court, for the first time since his first couple of years. Jefferson is just a leader-type player with a god attitude, and krstic is too young to get any kind of inflated ego. Kidd is the only one to worry about, in that respect, i think

everyone plays their best ball in atlanta, because usually theres a lack of talent to go up against :) stats always get inflated that way...

And yeah, I think shareef will do better then Kenyon..i dont know why i think so...but its possible. Martins numbers were inflated because of Kidd.
And Rahims numbers are already/still better then Martins, and hes not had the chance to play with an elite point guard....

I say Rahim, if he does infact get on the Starting Lineup for NJ, will have about 13-15 pts a game..7 boards, a block...thats the average for the season, im gonna predict

yeah, im sure his scoring will dip, because carter/jefferson will take care of that. Kidd with the assists...and rahim for rebounds...good stuff

mmhmm...i think if they dont make it to the Championship game this year with Rahim, theres not gonna be another chance...Rahim wont take more than one year, Kidd will of course want out...and the Nets are moving to the Bronx soon....

nets won't make it to the eastern conference finals. they'll start out great. then someone will get jealous or RJ and VC will break a nail.
