So I book shows in the Pittsburgh, PA area and a few of the venues I book at don't either A. Have a house sytem or B. The PA there is beyond awful, so I'm looking into investing in my own. Here's my thoughts on what I think would be fitting, but I'm looking for opinions.

*The venues I book at usually only have a capacity of 250 - 300 max, if I need anything bigger I'd just pay for sound.

*I usually only mic the kick drum, instrument wise.

(I like to have the extra channels just for some bands that might need more mics or have instruments going right through the PA).

(I realize I'm going to need a couple if I'm going to have monitors set up with seperate mixes).

(It looks super convienent, I've had trouble with snakes being huge and being the worst part of packing and un packing)

Minus all the cables I'll need does this look like a good setup to you guys? I've always had good expierences with yamaha speakers so I tried to stick with them the whole way around.

Let me know what you guys think, also let me know if I'm missing anything I'm doing this in school and trying to do it as quick as possible.

Thanks!

Honestly, you don't need subs at a venue that size. You are better off buying some powered mackies. for mains, they are 100000x easier to set up and sound amazing. Also, you are going to need a lot more mics than that. You will probably want AKG for the toms and kick, sm57 for hat and snare, at least 4 sm57's ready for instruments, and at least 4 sm58's ready for vocals.

Do you have a budget for this?

The other thing you might consider is scanning ebay or craigslist for a complete PA setup - people sell used ones out of clubs all the time.

I usually only mic the kick drum. Do you have any specific recommendations for those mackies?
