My vote went to Atmosphere. A lot of their music has sentimental value, to me. Aesop follows closely, though.

Atmosphere is EXTREMELY underrated. All these are pretty good, but they get my vote.

There are so many good ones here. I had to go with Atmosphere because I think Slug is the most consistently solid MC, but Aesop and Murs are amazing, as is P.O.S., El-P, Brother Ali, and Sage Francis. They all have different strong suits so if people haven't heard of any of these artists, pick five of 'em, choose a couple of there songs and give them a listen. They are great.

I confess I'm no connoisseur in hip-hop, but I know that Astronautalis lyrics are incredible.

I think Cecil Otter could be just as big as Sage Francis if he makes the right moves, very similar sound and both are very cool in their own way.

I like quite a few of those choices, but P.O.S. takes it for me.

Id say both of these are underground rappers but in my opinion aren't indie rappers. just my opinion

DOOM. Nobody on this list even comes close to touching him. Madvilliany just might be the best rap album of this decade.

It was a choice between Aesop Rock and Atmosphere. On the strength of their latest, I went with Atmosphere.

That's a matter of opinion. I still think he should have been included in the poll since he is clearly an underground rapper

No, its a joke. Jokes on you fool.

I just dont get what's so jokingly about it.
If you're an intelligent person you would leave examples or some sort of reason why you think its a joke. To me, these are the people that I would think of when I hear underground indie rap. BESIDES Atmosphere. Atmosphere, In my mind, has gotten up from the Under and is more than that.
Whatever, bro I just dislike dudes who leave comments and cant explain themselves. Its easy to make a shitty comment, its difficult to explain like a human being why you dislike something and/or what you woudl do different.

I guess it is. God forbid one of the best "indie underground rappers" NOT be on Rhymesayers.
hah all you did in your blog was praise the new P.O.S. cd
example: Never Better is a one way ticket to everything that's right in hip-hop.
I might be wrong but I think P.O.S. is on Rhymesayers.
