The league starts up in April, the draft is January 16th. After the failed attempt of a women's pro soccer league in the USA with the WUSA, I'm hoping this one makes it. Not really sure if any of you really care, but I'm excited.

I never followed women's soccer, but when I came to school part of my job was scorekeeper for the women's soccer games. Ever since then I've really watched a lot of women's soccer, college only though. The pace is slower than men's soccer, but I kind of like that.

if they wore the same uniforms that volleyball does, i'd be interested.

if there's any hot broads playing, thats would attract my attention. but it seems they all disappear in college to ugly dykes on the field.

absolutely...that'd be awesome, as long as they drafted players based on looks, not talent
I wish soccer was a million times bigger in this country than it is.

Well now, this may be my first and last thread ever made in the sports forum...
I wish soccer was bigger in the US and I wish there was a bit more respect for women's sports. Yes, I will admit that women's soccer is not as excited as men's. It's significantly slower, but it's my heart and my passion and it makes me excited to see women in this country as well as other countries get to play on this level. I'm hoping this league does better then the WUSA did. I hope and plan on getting to at least a game down in DC.

Professional Women's sports will never hit a large target audience.
The closest thing is Tennis and maybe Golf.
I have a hard enough time watching Men's Soccer.

I think Marta is leaving the league in Sweden to play in the US? At least that's what I think I read. There seems to be a good handful of foreign players in the US league and they're adding 3 more cities in 2010. They're holding open tryouts as well, apparently. I would looooooooooooooooooooove to make an attempt at that if I was still in good shape. Hahaha

Ohhh, a fucking typo, you got me. And our basketball team is tied for the youngest in the NCAA, 9 freshmen, and still managing to be in position to make a post season run and we have a good recruiting class coming in.On the note of our football team, I would say that it's just because of a coaching change, but it really is pretty bad.
make a run into postseason? you'll have 10-11 losses come the end of the season and nobody will give a shit about you come tournament time...puck you sir

We definitely have to buckle down, but if we do get into the tournament we could be dangerous for a win or two. Just look at what we did last year against Notre Dame and the 'amazing' Luke Harongody, or however you spell it. When was the last time you saw a Big East team score 41 points?
yeah good luck with what you just stated tied for youngest team, 9 freshmen. so dangerous, very scared to face them in the tourney.

We still have Aron Baynes and Taylor Rochestie, as well as Nikola Kopravica, Caleb Forrest and Daven Harmeling, even though they're all slumping, and Klay Thompson, DeAngelo Casto and Marcus Capers are all beasts. We're really just lacking a lot of what Kyle Weaver, Derrick Low and Robbie Cowgill brought to the table and we're in the process of replacing that.

I'm pretty sure a Sweet 16 appearance last year is 'doing something in the tourney' and this is coming from a guy whose football team was able to be worse than ours, I mean come on, even Idaho managed to get a win.

I was talking about Don James in the 80's, even though he did coach them into the early 90's, but whatever. And you're right nobody grows up here but some farm folk and we shop at the general store and shit in holes, you city folk are much more sophisticated than us. There's a whopping 5,000 without the students (almost 30,000 with them) and what does age have to with this? We're talking about this season and last season. A season in which the Huskies went 0-12, I mean seriously, even Idaho won a game, so you don't have much but the past and how much you hate Pullman to talk about.

Age has to do with it because I'm a husky and you're a nobody stuck in the armpit of Washington. If you're not a Coug, you're just a misguided youth who was forced to root for the worst athletic school in Pac-10 history.
And Idaho got to play Idaho State. If the school didn't schedule all non-conference monsters the huskies would have one too. Or if the refs didn't botch the BYU game. But who cares? Both programs suck ass.
