Hits theaters this Friday, January 16th in glorious 3D.

Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/mybloodyvalentine3d/

Synopsis: Tom (Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, however, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders, and it seems like his old flame (King) is the only one will believes he's innocent.

4 Reviews from RT so far:

"This is an R-rated horror film through and through. My Bloody Valentine is bursting with gory kills and loads of nudity, all delivered in three glorious dimensions."

"An in-your-face bit of bloody fun that's guaranteed to thrill those looking for a gory good time."

"There's nothing sweeter that watching a film that knows exactly what it is. At no point does MBV:3D pretend to be anything but a mindless slasher film straight out of your DVD collection. [It's] is jammed with great kills, loads of gore & plenty of laughs."

"On par with Chainsaw '03 and Dawn '04. No pretense, no delusions, just slick, basic stalk & shock mayhem with a 3-D coating that works unexpectedly well."

I'm a sucker for slasher films, no matter how stupid and cliche they may be.

This one already has me sold.

Hahaha, I am not a fan of the original, and this doesn't look all that better to me. I couldn't resist the kitty picture.

I kind of want to see this solely because it's 3D, but all my friends refuse to see it with me.

My friends and I are all stoked. Come up to Canada and join us; us Canadians love slasher flicks.

I am a big slasher fan, and cant wait to see this in 3D.

I wasn thrilled they were remaking one of my top 10 fav. slashers (but I am still sick of all the remakes!!) .... but the previews and reviews have me kind of pumped!!

Hopefully it doesnt stray too far from the original though

I cannot fucking wait to see this film tonight. Reviews coming in have been positive. Sounds like the 3D makes it one hell of a show.

For a split second I somehow thought this was going to be some 3D feature based around Loveless by My Bloody Valentine.

ACTUALLY GOOD FLICK....best "there's a killer...who is it" movie since Scream. Decent ending, acceptable twist, fair enough deaths, enjoyable 3D scenes. Totally worth the money....about time this genre gets a gooooood movie.

sequel?

Just got back from seeing this.

Pros:
- The story doesn't waste time developing itself.
- The deaths are gory, and pretty awesome.
- 3D bits aren't overdone, and when used, are done well.

Cons:
- The acting, in most cases, is pretty awful
- The "twist" is a bit cheesy, but not a deal breaker

Overall, I enjoyed it, and thought it was worth the time and money I spent on it. There's definitely better slasher flicks out there, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't see this one. If you have the chance, and horrors are your thing, go see it soon.

Score: 7.8/10

ha, i just got back from this movie
i thought it was hilarious
and the deaths were insane
i went in expecting a grindhouse like movie, and it's what i got

plus.. this kid i went to high school was in it.... the guy Michael that dies in the beginning, he trips and is laying on the ground screaming, and seeing him get murdered was real awesome... no hate on him but it was great

How much horror have you watched? I'm not saying your opinion is false, but there have been plenty of good horror movies this decade and even in the past year or two. Gotta look past wide releases before you claim "...about time this genre gets a goooood movie", wouldn't ya say?
well help me out here.....i watch a lot of horror movies, perhaps only the mainstream "hollywood" ones....but i am unaware of a recent actual good movie with the same basic concept of Scream/Valentine 3D. .

I saw this tonight, not in 3D. I presume everyone knows that the movie isn't in 3D itself, the projector that shows the film is what does it. There isn't a projector of that stature on this side of Pittsburgh.

Given I saw this not in 3D and I'd say it's better then average. It is what it is and it's not incredible but it did the trick, I liked it a lot. The twist is a bit more lame then you guys are saying but I liked the story line overall. I'd see the movie again, if asked.

Yeah, the twist is pretty predictable. Only reason I saw the movie was because of the 3D though.

I didn't like this as much as I thought. The 3D aspect was neat, but a lot of the times, it was so blury. And they could have done so much more with the whole 3D thing than they did. They made full use of it a handfull of times (the pick being thrown, the tree in the window, and the bullet), and when they did it was very effective.

Other than that, it was a good slasher film. The ending was very weak. I bought the original earlier this week so I'm going to watch that later to compare, but once the 'twist' happened, it was a disappoiting moment. An illusion, really?

Only 32 reviews but it's at 72% on Rotten Tomatoes. I really need to see this one. Had no idea Kerr Smith was in it either. Haven't seen him in forever.

I haven't seen this yet, but most reviews of all the 3D movies that have been coming out lately (the past couple of years) have had the same complaint (as the part I bolded). Other than the concert 3D films (U2, Hannah Montana), the 3D aspect has really been underdeveloped. Hopefully it actually becomes more worthwhile as more and more films try it.

PS -- I actually didn't see Bolt, so I can't include that in anything I just said.

me and my boyfriend went to see it this afternoon. we got to the part at the beginning where the girl had her face cut in half by the shovel when i had all i could take. i was feeling phyisically sick by that point and had to leave. im usually a champ when it comes to gore, but this movie outdid itself. hopefully i'll be able to handle it better when it comes out on dvd.

for $5? hell ya...especially if college night involves the 3D part...... its extremely enjoyable, not overly corny, (not bloody), with a decent ending..... i think its the best of these kind of flicks since Sceam (from what ive seen)

I just saw this movie last weekend.
And I called it. Right from the beginning.
Best kill was the eye popping out. Nice.
It sucked, but the 3D was pretty cool.
