I talked too Tony from Mest (http://www.mestcrapp.com) at Warped today. I asked him what the new album sounds like, and he said "It's a lot more mature then anything we've ever done. Some of it sounds like The Police and a lot of 80's."

everything always sounds more mature than anything anyone has ever done. unless they tried that before, people didn't like it, and they are going back to their original, more popular, sound.

I want a band to say,
"you know, the new album is actually going to be a whole lot immature... We haven't progressed or grown musically whatsoever, and we decided to stop singing about politics and love, and talk about the alphabet and learning to use the potty"

Complete and total bullshit I assure you.
Its blasphemy for such a shitty band to compare themselves to the police.

10000000% true. Whenever a band announces this, it often means "it's gonna suck" or "it won't have the balls of our past albums." Might as well come out and say "You know those past records of ours that made you love us? Well this won't be ANYTHING like it!"

Seems to happen when bands start taking themselves too seriously.

Im so sick of bands using the word "mature".

In any event, this band sucks more than Anna Nicole Smith when she wants money.

The Police are like the new "it band" to namedrop and say you are trying to sound like. Way to be different Mest. Is he still gay with that Good Charlotte guy? There used to be posts about them making out every week on this site about 2 years ago.

80's? The Police? Not with his nasily voice! Everyones albulm is always more mature which always means darker or they try to scream in it. Everyone is trying to be screamo cause that's where the money's at yo.

if they are going for a more "mature" sound they may as well make it a "concept" album and repeat parts of songs throughout the album since that is all the rage.

I just with the singer would quit the band so the guitarist would sing all the songs. His songs always seem to be better, plus he isn't an asshole like the other guys.
