I'm going to spend my Sunday listening to Thursday (http://www.thursday.net), Lorene Drive (http://www.lorenedrive.com), The Spill Canvas (http://www.thespillcanvas.com), and Emery (http://www.emery.com). I recommend you do the same.
Caleb - You should all listen to Lowercase (http://www.purevolume.com/lowercasestl), Westcott (http://www.purevolume.com/westcott)(recording their first full length soon), Lorene Drive (http://www.purevolume.com/lorenedrive)(new album is AMAZING), and give ME recommendations on what I should review next. God Bless you guys.
Rohan: Here (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?p=1514880#post151488 0) are my recommendations. Check em out, let me know what you think, and let me know what you've been listening to in the replies. Also, as Caleb said, recommend some CDs for me to review.
Brandon Herbel - So, I have had no internet for the last month from moving into a new apartment and not having enough money, but just got it back friday so I am so excited to do the sunday recomendations again. I seriously have been listening to nothing but Minus The Bear (http://www.minusthebear.com). Everything that this band has out is amazing and well written. If you haven't checked it out, please do.
Garett Press - For this beautifully sunny weekend, I'll just throw out some really good pop rock recs. Check out A Hero From a Thousand Pieces (http://www.purevolume.com/aherofromathousandpaces) (thank you Brian of Sleepwell (http://www.purevolume.com/sleepwell)), and State Unfair (http://www.purevolume.com/stateunfair).
Pat - Listen to my new radio show - www.idobi.com .. listen to All Time Low www.purevolume.com/alltimelow. Listen to The Waiting Room www.purevolume.com/thewaitingroom. Listen to The Morning Of www.purevolume.com/themorningof.
Brandon A. - Lately i've found myself listening to a whole lot of the Cheap Suits (http://www.cheapsuits.ca). Go check them out and hopefully you'll hear something you enjoy. Have a great week!

I think he was referring to the fact that you meant you will be listening to material from those bands that has yet to be released. Which is funny considering your recent crusade against downloaders. Now I realize these bands have previous released works we ca listen to and that you probably didn't download the new ones but were sent legit copies, but not everyone else is that fortunate, and we all know that you meant you'd be listening to the new stuff.

I never said anything about it being the "new" stuff. In fact, as far as I know, only 2 of the things I named above are even available to downloaders. And, for maybe the upteenth time: I am not, nor have I ever been, against downloading when it's handled the right way. While lastly, I don't get where you drew your assumptions because I think the guy was just being an ass...

here are my recommendations:
yann tiersen - he's the guy who did the amelie soundtrack. amazing, amazing, amazing. you will not be disappointed by anything he's done.
kind of like spitting - probably my favorite band ever. no, definitely my favorite band ever. ben is just an amazing singer/songwriter/musician. unbelievably honest.
love of everything - this guy has a voice like tim kinsella. he doesn't sing in tune at all; but, somehowe, it works for him.
the city on film - it's bob nanna. need i say more?
wilco - pick up yankee hotel foxtrot. it's amazing.

Caleb, review the morning of EP, "Welcome Change, Goodbye Gravity" it's on pureVOLUME, if it's something you think you're interested in I have MP3's for you.
That's what I'll be listening to today, and probably some TREOS, I can make a mess...(cause I haven't in forever), and Say Anything.

im sorry. I'll be listening to 311 every day until the new cd comes out. and then some more...plus death before dishonor.
I feel bad being that 311 was one of the bands that got me into music on a more involved level that I don't really feel all that excited for this new album. I mean I have heard absolutely nothing from it and know it will be solid but judging from their last two outings I will probably find it less than spectacular and probably listen to it for a couple weeks and forget about it until someone else asks me about it. Guess im just not as hardcore into them as I was 10 years ago or even 5 years ago when I feel that my love for them reached its zenith on Soundsystem.

If you are looking to regain some tough guy street cred might I suggest the My Little Pony DVD box set. This and or an autographed photo of Wilfred Brimley is what I suggest to any one searching to reach their inner badass. Results may vary in direct correlation to how seriously you take snark.

Wilco is a must, its great summer music. The song Jesus, Etc. is easily one of my favorites ever.
I recommend:
Bell X1- Damien Rice's old band (Juniper), they changed their name after he left to Bell X1. They are a must listen.
Owen + Nightmare of you have been in my cd player all week as well.

Obviously they have changed their sound since Damien left, but they are really good still. Juniper actually never released a cd with rice, but weatherman was their single, and i agree amazing song.

Nada Surf (http://www.nadasurf.com) - The new album is pretty good; seriously.
Mustangs And Madras (http://www.mustangsandmadras.com/) - At The Drive-In mixed with guitars stolen from Texas Is The Reason's S/T EP. Good stuff.
Suicide Machines (http://www.suicide-machines.com) - New album rules, but that's to be expected.
The new MDLIW (http://www.modernlifeiswar.net) [is] fantastic.
Agreed. Where the fuck has coverage been for this? Or Deathwish in general (who I really only like two bands on [them and Sex Positions], but still...)?

does the singer of Nightmare of You remind anyone else of Matt Skiba? besides those high pitched, i guess you could call 'em, "screams" I think their singing style and voice are kind of similar. maybe im way off here...
listen to:
Nightmare of You
Boys Night Out - surprise album of the year for me
Kyle Riabko (http://www.myspace.com/kyleriabko) - different genre but this kid is only 17 and is so muscially talented its ridiculous. think of a "bluesier" John Mayer with the same sort of "pop" sound
The Early November - everyday until the new album comes out

i love wide eyed. i thought their old stuff was awful, but they really pulled it together.
i mean, these guys can not only make a great pop record, but they are musicians.
what i mean is, they have a song in 7/4. and i've been told they have a song in
(don't quote me) 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 9/4, and 11/4.
oh, and for everyone who likes minus the bear: they're doing a split 7"
with the city on film on polyvinyl records.

I recommend that everyone check out the new Choke album called "Slow Fade or: How I Learned To Question Infinity".
