this is pretty tough for me. I loved Perfect Dark and Goldeneye but I was pretty obsessed with the Banjo-Kazooie series so I picked Banjo-Kazooie. I've played that new one for 360 and i'm kind of indifferent to it. Maybe I need to play it more.

I had the same problem as you pretty much but it came down to Banjo and DK64. I picked DK64 just because I spent the most time with it.

I just rented the 360 one and I'm not liking it.

I loved Diddy Kong Racing for its simplicity, but I had to go for Goldeneye because its such a classic. There's nothing better than disappearing bodies and when you die your screen melts into the color red.

Not Jet Force Gemini, that game is way to hard for me haha. I'd say Goldeneye/Perfect dark for me, I gave my vote to PD because I know Goldeneye gets plenty of love. Both wonderful though.

Yeah, Perfect Dark was awesome because you could add bots.

This really is a hard ass poll. Rare was AMAZING in the N64 days. They need to go back to the Nintendo name.

I knew Goldeneye would get mad love on this pull, HOWEVER, I bet a lot of the people that voted for it never got a chance to play some of the other amazing games by Rare.

Goldeneye was pretty much the first first-person shooter that I really played inside out. So many good memories of playing through it.

Anyone who picked Goldeneye over Perfect Dark is a dumbass. Quit judging Goldeneye based on nostalgic attachment and try playing the damn game in the year 2009. It does not hold up very well, it's playable, but I'll be damned if you don't get really frustrated with how outdated it is. Perfect Dark on the other hand, holds up extraordinarily well by today's standards (except for the horrible slowdown, but what can you do, that game pushed the N64's processing powers to it's absolute limits), and kicks Goldeneye's ass in every aspect from weapon selection, graphics, sound (voiceovers!), level design, career mode, mission structure, interface, and of course, multiplayer options. Fuck all three Halos, getting 4 guys together in a basement and rocking out against Perfect Agent bots = priceless moments.

I really want to go back and play many of these games but every time I try the frame rate makes me feel sick.

I'm pretty sure I have a brand new copy of PD from EBay for $2. Gotta love the Ebay.

although Goldeneye was like revolutionary.... Perfect Dark, seriously, was the best shooter ever made for N64. no game had as many cool guns and bots with different personalities you could play against/with.

This is tough.

Diddy kong racing couldn;t touch mario kart, but I still love those types of games.
Goldeneye was just awesome, and everyone had it so you could always play it.
Perfect Dark added some cool elements that no other game had, plus the laptop gun.

Goldeneye, Blast Corps and Banjo-Kazooie were the only three games on that list that I owned, but what an awesome three games they were. I went for Goldeneye in the end, it was such a buttload of fun, especially the four player multiplayer. Banjo-Kazooie was really fun aswell though, but I never actually completed it :-(

Perfect Dark.
It took all the good stuff about Goldeneye and then added bots, cooler weapons, more levels, and the awesome character customization (who DIDN'T want to be the alien?)

Perfect Dark > Goldeneye.
