a question for cashiers

if somone rolls up with a hand basket should they take everything out or leave it all in? I leave everything in because it's nice and compact and if I buy multiples it all stays together. Someone told me it was rude to not take it out though. I used to cashier. I just cared about the hangers. take them off while you're waiting in line

I use a shopping cart regardless of how many items I'm buying if I know two hands won't cut it so I've never ran into this situation. The basket isn't very masculine so I don't think I'd use it haha. But to not take stuff out seems weird to me either way.

what the fuck. Take it out. A lot of people don't take off hangers because they think you sell them. It's confusing because some places let you have them and some don't. Where I wogk now if it's a bigger purchase and they see me taking off the hangers than they usually help me.

twas a cashier and i would rather the person keep it in. it really does take too long to wait for the customer to do it most of the time. unrelated: i wish people didnt use checks anymore. they take so long for the cashier to do (even more of a pain for them.)

I just leave it in... I don't see why they would be annoyed. Either way they have to ring the stuff up, what's the difference if they pick it up from in the basket or not?

take it out. that way you keep track of what they're buying. if they sneak off with something it's your ass.
