I just heard these guys for the first time today, and they're fucking awesome. "I Learned A Lot About Myself Tonight" is honestly one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. I can't get enough of them.

No way should this band play hellfest. It's bad enough that Hellfest is no longer really a hardcore music festival, but this band doesn't desirve the right to play in the same city as Lifetime.

Get over it? This band should get over the idea of playing HELLFEST. I can picture it now them going on before MADBALL, yeah that would be real sweet. I wish there was a site where you could help Hellfest not let Driving In Silence play a hardcore festival, atleast the other non hardcore bands are good.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but just because you don't like a band doesn't mean they aren't deserving of playing with other bands just because they're not the same. This band is more dedicated and works harder than any other band I've ever seen/met/heard of and they deserve everything the get. If you don't like them, then vote for Bled Across Miles instead.

Works harder than any other band you ever heard, you must not listen to many bands. They can play with bands that are different I don't care about that, but to take a spot away from a band who has paid their dues to play hellfest, maybe a band who has attended a hellfest, or actually heard of hellfest, that's stupid. Winning a contest with a bunch of kids who aren't going to be at hellfest isn't really saying much. Go to Hellfest and ask the kids there if they want them to play, cause I am sure the answer will be no. That is your opinon and I voiced mine on here, that's the point of this site anyway. I would love to know how you think that band has worked harder than any struggling hardcore band, cause I am sure they have not. How long they been around? How many hours have they drived to play a vfw with 20 kids who love their music? When they put their time in the you can talk about them being deserving.

And you're so sure because you know everything about them? Give me a break. They'll drive anywhere any time to play for anyone. They go out of their way to do things for fans. They'll spend the rest of their lives making music because they're musicians. You can shove all the money in the world in their face and if it isn't on their terms, they'll turn it down. They are true musicians who exist solely to make the music they wish. I know all three of these guys, they've gone through so much to get to where they are and have done it on their own terms, and there is nothing more respectable than that.

dude first.. Madball is a terrible band. and i'm sure that 90 percent of the kids that go to Hellfest like bands outside of "hardcore" .. and if you don't, i honestly feel sorry for you.. you are missing out on some amazing music.. i remember the one dude from Paint It Black was saying how he wanted to incorporate the music of WU TANG CLAN into his band.. do you know who Paint It Black is and there history? I'm not to sure because you wouldn't me making such stupid comments.

who cares .. is this going to kill you? no. as simple as that, you need to relax and get over it. if you are going to hell fest, don't watch the band, i'm sure they don't care at all.

driving in silence deserves to be on hellfest ... they'r really awesome , and make good music ... and it's good that hellfest isnt that hardcore anymore, now the profit should be better

Hellfest wasn't about profit, and that's the problem right there, now it is. I do listen to multiple genres of music. This band is not good. How can you go to HELLFEST and say MADBALL is horrible. You people are fucking dumb. This band will drive anywhere for a show, no one fuckings knows them.

Hellfest IS NOT a hardcore festival anymore. As you can see, you said it yourself. Get over it.

i have to agree with Jared, HellFest is not just hardcore anymore. And I know that driving in silence is a hardworking band "I saw them in Colombus, Ohio...they drove all the way out there from Baltimore for just one show, thats some dedication..and if "all in a year" did his homework he'd know that driving in silence has been putting out songs and playing shows for 2 and a half years (all I had to do was go to their website to find that)....I voted for them.
