My Warped Tour experience was completely ruined yesterday by the world's largest fucking thunderstorm. I waited until 5:45 to see Thrice, the band I REALLY, REALLY wanted to see, they played "Betrayal Is A Symptom" and "Silhouette" and they were tearing it up and then Dustin's like "Okay, we're gonna play a song from Vhiessu now, it's called "Image of the Invisible" what I'm gonna do is say a line and I want you guys to sing it back to me and go along with Eddie and Teppei." And of course everyone went nuts, cause we all want to hear this new song.
And then the stage manager comes out and pulls the plug. He's like "Guys there's lightning, we have to stop for now, what you need to do is run back inside the fence and get back under the big white canopy, you NEED to get to some shelter RIGHT NOW." (The main stages were located out back of the venue, past the lawn seating, down the back hill and into some grass parking lots) Of course everyone just booed him and yelled "Fuck you," because he had just interrupted the awesomeness that is Thrice.
By the time I had got 20 feet away from the stage, the wind picked up to about 20-30 mph, CONSTANT, and the rain was pouring down, whipping into everyone's faces as they ran as fast as they could back to the canopy. Merch tents were going down everywhere from the wind, it was nuts. I got soaked, Dillinger Escape Plan was on the 3rd stage (under the canopy) and was like "They think they'll have the main stages going again by 6:45 or 7:00" It was 6:00 then, so I went back to my car, changed my clothes and went home, completely disappointed.
Okay, now if anyone else was at this show, we'll talk about it. If not, call me a pussy for bitching. Or sympathize with me. I don't care. I just had to vent.

Yeah but they made us leave. I would have stood in front of that stage for an hour or two if he didn't basically tell us to "get the fuck away from the stage"

they must not have anticipated it to storm like that.
at my date they knew there was a hurricane (you couldn't turn on a radio, tv, or read a paper without seeing it) so they moved the main stages to under the amphitheater.
there was still a problem with seating though. bc it was general admission and fire regulations they wouldn't let people into the pit past a certain number or into seats... it was lame.

No see they knew it was going to RAIN because when the guys were up on stage around 5:30 tuning their instruments in the same guy came out, tapped Dustin on the shoulder and pointed to the sky behind us. However, I don't know if they knew the storm was going to be as bad as it was, and I'm sure they sure as fuck didn't know as soon as they pulled the plug the skies were going to open up before anyone had a chance to find shelter.

That really blows. Two years ago, it rained a little when I went to Warped Tour but that was as bad as it got. Some kid did throw up on my shoes three years ago, but that doesn't really compare. Storms suck.

yeah it rained like crazy in tejas last year. but that was actually pretty refreshing. my warped tour experience is usually ruined every year, by burning, unrelentless heat, and thousands upon thousands of sweaty, stench ridden bodies. i only go for the easy merch now. warped tour always has a great lineup, and you'll get a great sound system(which equals a good show) every now and then, but other than that the experience is pretty overrated. it's got awesome intentions, but there's just too many people. there's plenty of artists that play warped tour, that claim they're not sure if they'd go just to watch.

That stinks. I would've stayed though.
It always seems to be on the hottest day of the summer.
And one year my friend threw up all over my leg. That was gross.

i could have, except it just kept raining, not as hard, more like a drizzle, but at that point i no longer wanted to get wet. i wanted to go home and be dry.

Oh Jer bear, you missed it! Thrice never went on stage, but Boys Night Out rode around with a bike saying they'd be playing, no matter what, and while everyone was waiting for the mian stages to go up, there was mud wrestling, tog-o-war, and a lots of other shenanigans.
The Transplants ended up being the last band to play on the only 2 stages they got back up (Mike and Smart Punk) and they were pretty nuts, and the crowd stuck around to watch them so it was pretty good.
Plus it weeded out all the little girls.

Oh yea, and BNO sold their new CD for $6 bucks, so it was definately worth it, plus they're fucking entertaining live.

Never. Fucking MSO never told Vizion, the press dude, that I'd be there, so they wouldn't give me passes. I called Vizion, I called MSO, I talked to everyone I could and they wouldn't give them to me.

Yea. I think they're giving us (KP) another date for someone, probably Bridget, to go, but that doesn't help me any. I spent so much time on writing the questions.
