I always wondered if the type of music people listen to changes when people have different moods. I know when I'm mad I like to listen to music that makes me feel good but some of my friends like to listen to the opposite. Just curious to see what type of music you listen to when you're mad.
-I personally love to listen to almost any song by hellogoodbye or no sunlight by death cab for cutie. The last song is kinda ironic because the song is really poppy but the lyrics are really sad.

I change what I am listening to depending on mood. So, I guess I agree.

My favorite song for a bad mood is "Fuck the world" by Tiger Army. The best for a good mood is "It was a good day" by Ice Cube.
I do believe the mood you are in makes us listen to the music you listen to. I listen to alot of punk and hardcore because I hate most the people around me and get pissed off alot.

When I'm mad I listen to Pig Destroyer a lot. Well, recently I have been when I'm mad anyway.

Uhh.
When I'm depressed, I listen to Propagandhi.
When I'm jovial, I listen to Propagandhi.
When I'm thinking, I listen to Propagandhi.
When it's sunny, I listen to Propagandhi.
When it's raining, I listen to Propagandhi.
When it's hot out, I listen to Propagandhi.
When it's cold out, I listen to Propagandhi.
When I'm driving, I listen to Propagandhi.
When it's snowing, I listen to Propagandhi.
When I'm not listening to Propagandhi, I'm listening to Dead Kennedys "Nazi Punks Fuck Off".
I've found Seventy Times 7 by Brand New is a pretty nice song to just go nuts to when I'm pissed off.
I can usually find a Brand New song to fit any mood.

It's more like my tolerance of really depressing ass music. When I'm sad, I tend to listen to really somber, weary music like Neil Young and Bon Iver and Iron & Wine and Smashing Pumpkins, but when I'm in a more tolerable mood I find it hard to listen to that kind of stuff.

The time of day has more of an effect on the music played than my mood, but it happens.
I was going to say yes but now that I actually think about it not really. When I'm mad I either listen to my death metal or my electronic indie, which is what I listen to anyways to begin with.
But in the car I listen to anything with a lot of bass; mainly rap. Except driving into the school parking lot I always need to blast White Chapel.

I change what I listen to depending on my mood.
There's also "car music" and "not car music." Car music is usually upbeat or angry. All the mellow stuff I save for when I'm at home.

I definitely can't listen to certain things when I'm in certain moods. Some of my music for me is mood specific, but most of the music I listen to isn't.

This is so true, whenever I am in a bad mood I will always listen to hardcore, but when I am in more of a good mood I listen to a more alternative rock band like Taking Back Sunday.
