I would if they didn't get diarrhea when they ate ice cream

Only if she could read lips, because sometimes I'd just be too damn lazy to talk with my hands (not to mention I don't know sign language).

i'd say her actual problem is social retardation. who talks about diarrhea on a date? btw i'm also half deaf, I would date someone who's deaf probs

My roomate dated a girl who was deaf in one ear and three quarters deaf in the other. I made wayyy too many offensive jokes at his expense to ever date one myself. But, if you don't have any "r" sounds in your first name, it's an okay deal, I'm sure.

lol, I would, if I wasn't already dating someone & if they could read lips.
I like how she was like: oh I made toast with peanut butter, eggs, I'm deaf.

Seeing as my main passion is music, and I would never be able to share that with her, I dont think I would.

Most deaf people can still hear some... that's like saying all blind people see nothing but black.

I'm not opposed to it for the deafness, but the communication barrier would be a pretty big thing. I'd love to learn sign language though.

i doubt it. there's nothing wrong with deaf people, but i am really sensitive to the way things sound and most deaf people speak oddly (sorry, but it's true and it would irk me). Plus, music is far too big of a deal in my life to not be able to share that with the person i'm dating.

i'm severe to profoundly deaf in both ears and there's not much a hearing impaired/deaf person can do to help their speech. for those who can hear somewhat, they mimic what they can which is the reason it's hard to understand. obviously, completely deaf people have nothing to model after.

I feel like a superficial asshole, but no, I don't think I could. I can't understand sign language so we'd never be able to communicate. Plus, hearing a nice voice is a big part of relationships for me.

we'd have to figure out some way to communicate-- because i don't know sign language, and often times deaf people can't speak very well.. though sometimes they can.
I don't know... I love to talk (haha) and it's how I get comfortable with people... it would be weird if my bf couldn't listen. And like someone else already said it would be annoying if I couldn't get my bitching/whining out on him haha.

I have horrible hearing and I can't hear shit without my hearing aids. With that being said, I could date a deaf girl.
People who are deaf and/or blind are not aliens. I have a feeling that people who think that they cannot cope in a normal relationship haven't spent much time with one.

Agreed. I myself also suffer from bad hearing, stemming from a hearing loss I've had since I was born. It is very frustrating for me when people treat me different because of it. I'm not any different because of it, I'm the same as anyone else, just with lower hearing. I wouldn't mind dating anyone with a hearing problem or is deaf, it would be nice to be someone who understands what you go through.

i'm planning on majoring in deaf education and i'm in the process of learning sign language, so yes.
i don't see why it would be a problem.

no i understand. i mean, i went to events like the ones i think you're talking about back in elementary school. but for the most part (and i'm speaking for myself specifically here) i usually don't even tell people i'm hearing impaired unless there's a real reason to. only a handful of people at work know about it.

If I met her on the internet, I would know she is deaf (unless she lied, which would be the end of it), ergo I would not set myself up to fall for her online. It would be very romantic for someone to learn a language to be able to communicate with someone they love, but I don't think I would do it. How would I fall in love in the first place? Writing things down would be OK, but things lack emotion and feeling, you know? For example, I'm hoping people read this as if I'm showing my O-Face.

You can listen to music with a deaf person, I saw that like two days ago on the television, deaf people enjoy music, they don`t hear it off course but they feel it even better. I think it`s weird but probably true.. they even made a drumkit for deaf people O.o

Feeling the beat and hearing the music are two totally different things. Blind people can swim if they've got someone to help them out, which I would do. They could also ride on the back of a motorcycle, or in a sidecar.

Lisps and stutters are different, because they only happen with certain words (for the most part). I'd turn down a girl if she had an annoying voice, because that isn't an intermittent thing, that's on 24/7.
