Some of the meter is off. Oh well.
Hope to improve it once I stick it through revisions.
It's pretty raw. tell me what you think. :]
I awake from dormant state
to find that I have lost the day—
I slept the light from three to six,
Fester dark, the sun has slipped—
And in that quiet, docile time,
There really was no dream of mine--
No picture, word, or thought,
to prove a dream my brain had wrought--
And without a dream to eat the clock,
Time had stopped—sleep was botched.
Sixty years later I lie oppressed in a hospital bed
With no hope of next or what’s ahead—
I spent my life from start to end,
Morning’s left and night is sent—
All my lazy sit had gone to waste,
And time had made such wicked haste—
No vibrant dreams, words, or thoughts,
To prove the idle life I’d wrought—
Without a dream to frame my life,
I cannot look back and see with eyes—
My life has cheaply passed me by,
like a dreamless nap towards the night.
Hope to improve it once I stick it through revisions.
