ASV never got enough love when they were around--I seriously think they were one of the most underrated bands in the "scene" last year. What do you guys think of em?

I agree. They had pretty sweet guitar and pretty good vocals. Not typical whiney pop punk sounding.

The song that goes "One last cigarette to temporarily erase you..." is probably my favorite on El Camino. I forget its name.

"Stabbing Tree" is the name.

My fav was probably either "Otis" or "James Dean B-Side"

Yeah, the EP is a lot catchier....I'm not sure if I like it or the LP better. "Hammer Strong" is a really good song, my favorite off the EP.

i don't remember too well, but i do remember the older stuff being better than el camino although el camino was solid as well.

I thought El Camino was a huge step up for the band...the drumming was finally less erratic and they really started writing better, more coherent songs, not to mention the awesome production. I love the songs "The Pieces We Keep" and "Their Lovers Fall" though...and "When Hearts Were Gold" was a nice little "pogo-stick" song as they used to call it.

And the guitarist could play a fucking mean guitar for being in a pop punk band.

I thought I'd bump this since I was thinking about how good of a pop punk band this band was. So much better than Cartel and stuff people seem to be creaming themselves over these days. They're not so much pop punk as just rock. I don't want to say pop/rock, because that sounds like Butch Walker or Sugar Ray or something to me. Who cares what they are, they were good.

"amy never misses" would have to be my favorite on the cd. I bought it out of complete impulse, I'd just heard "when our hearts were gold" (if thats the title...you know what i mean) and so i was like meh...might as well, and I still listen to it all the time. very good.

I guess now is a good time to brag about my ASV tab on www.ultimate-guitar.com (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com) , even though it's not perfect. Such a pretty song.

ASV is so fun to play guitar along to...I've figured out most of their songs...just too lazy to tab em.

doooood....share the wealth. They're definitely tabbable, but it would just be easier if someone else would figure them out too and post them on ultimat-guitar.... I've figured out a lot of "Stabbing Tree"....I'm thinking about covering it acoustic. A Small Victory's singer is one of those singers who I can sound a lot like.

After looking at your profile and seeing American Football's self-titled as one of your favorite albums, I can officially say that you have the best musical taste out of any staff member, in my opinion.

Weren't they from Atlanta? I just remember (if I'm right) because I noticed Rohan's location.

They're from somewhere in Georgia, that's all I know.

And to you guys who have only heard the EP, get El Camino. It's a really solid full length and you won't regret it when it's spring and it's all sunny and you want some good pop punk to rock out to in your car. Anyone who hasn't heard them, take a listen.
