View Full Version : Frightened Rabbit (Official Thread)
Does anyone here listen to them at all? The Midnight Organ Fight was one of the best albums last year, just a great collection of songs.

I prefer the Twilight Sad but pretty good. I dunno, I just always associate the two cuz they're both Scottish and are good friends of each other.

The Midnight Organ Fight was lyrically great, but the compositions sound like so much other contrived, ready-for-inclusion-in-network-drama's music.
It's solid, if innocuous.

This is the first exposure I had to them and I was instantly impressed. Great video, heartfelt, sincere lyrics, kids dancing--what's not to love. :-)

this band was a short lived novelty for me.
I still enjoy the album greatly when I do listen to it, but I'm finding it harder and harder to go back to. Just didn't have a lot of staying power.

loved this album throughout 08 and it remains one of my favorites. These songs consistently hit you in new ways even down the road. Great songwriting.
not only are their album tracks great, but their non-album tracks are great or perhaps even better in some cases. see: "swim until you can't see land", "don't", "soon go", and all 3 versions of "its christmas so we'll stop"
and i forgot "last tango in brooklyn" too. all great songs

there are some good songs off singing the grets
but the midnight organ fight is on a WAY higher level
i love the tracks "head rolls off" "Good arms vs Bad arms" "the modern leper" and "keep yourself warm"
Damn, the girl I'm seeing told me about this band... definitely didn't expect to see them here. What are some good songs to start getting into them?
just listen to The Midnight Organ Fight, great great release
you can now stream frightened rabbit's new single off of fatcat's website:

frankly it's fucking amazing and one of the best songs i've heard all year, even though the album won't be out until early next.
I'm very pleased with the new song.
I highly recommend to fans of Frightened Rabbit to check out their friends and label mates We Were Promised Jetpacks and The Twilight Sad. For those who enjoy FR they should find a lot to like in the other bands.

I'm pumped for this release one of my most anticipated for 2010. I used to dislike "Nothing Like You" but it grew on me. Can't wait I always love the dudes lyrics.

" I may not want you back,
But I want to kill him"
Favorite line from them.
The new song is amazing. Reminds me of Dionne Warwicks early work.

New album comes out in the states on march 9. There are already reviews for it up as well, they have been pretty positive. Speaking of positive one of the reviews says that their lyrics are more optimistic which could be pretty swet depending on how you like your lyrics.
Comes out here in 13 days here! Can't wait. Both studio songs, and the two new songs they did for that BBC session sound pretty fantastic. They've got me majorly stoked for the new album.
Though I bought the Swim 7" when it came out, and not only did it cost me a shitload to import from the UK, it came all warped on one side. I emailed Fat Cat though and they sent a new copy out, luckily. BUT THEN... i find out that the Australia pre-order at my local record store comes with the 7" for free! I could have saved myself the $20 it cost me to import it form the UK!
Anyway, rant over. I like this band.

Coupled with the brick line right before those, it's terrific. One of my favorite songs of the past few years.
