I just got the following e-mail. Why, since I'm not even an American citizen, I have no idea, but there you go.

"Feminist Theologians FEAR The Pied Piper Presidency Of Barack Hussein Obama (bornagainamerican.org (http://bornagainamerican.org/) videos) has shared a Huffington Post article with you:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/04/arianna-talks-to-norman-l_n_141201.html

They also included a personal note:

The Born Again American anthem has played a major role in Obama's inauguration events. Born Again American (bornagainamerican.org (http://bornagainamerican.org/)) is the brainchild of Norman Lear. Norman Lear founded People for the American Way (site.pfaw.org/site/PageServer?pagename=videos_25th_ann iversary (http://site.pfaw.org/site/PageServer?pagename=videos_25th_ann iversary)) to combat the influence of Bible-believing Christians in America (bornagainamerican.org/about.html (http://bornagainamerican.org/about.html)). Arianna (Huffington) spoke with producer and activist Norman Lear as the election results rolled in. Lear told her, "I'm at a christening. It's my christening as a born again American." huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/04/arianna-talks-to-norman-l_n_141201.html (http://huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/04/arianna-talks-to-norman-l_n_141201.html) Norman Lear, the TV producer, and founder of Declare Yourself (declareyourself.com (http://declareyourself.com/)), said, "This Inauguration marks an important moment in our country's history - one that allows us all to be proud of how far we've come and the direction we're going. Our event celebrates this moment and helps motivate us all to become more active in our communities on the local and national level by getting involved, giving back, and being proud to be an American, born again." omg.yahoo.com/news/declare-yourself-announces-inauguration-kick-off-event-with-jessica-alba-maroon-5/17315 (http://omg.yahoo.com/news/declare-yourself-announces-inauguration-kick-off-event-with-jessica-alba-maroon-5/17315)

Obama will soon discover that government cannot legalize everything that the Bible condemns and then ask for God to bless America. Even though Obama is clever at wrapping himself with religiosity, his presidency could very well lead Americans toward joining European secularism. European Secularism and American Religiosity google.com/search?hl=en&q=european+secularism (http://google.com/search?hl=en&q=european+secularism) Europeans are increasingly outraged by the role of religion in American politics. Faith is important: 59% of Americans / 21% of Europeans Attend worship service weekly: 44% of Americans / 15% of Europeans __________________ SEE: "Religion in an Expanding Europe" books.google.com/books?id=gKkA3GdCM78C (http://books.google.com/books?id=gKkA3GdCM78C)

Now, there is legitimate fear among Feminists and other minority groups about Obama being elected. For one, a black president (or a female one in Hillary's case) might make people go "Hmm, if we elected a black president, this means that racism/sexism/otherisms have been eraticated in America, so why should we bother striving any further for equality? Clearly, it has already been reached." But that same argument of equality already being reached has been circulating for a long time.

Now, let's look at the actual content of the e-mail.
a) America is already technically a secular society. Whether that happens in practices or not is a different matter.

b) The U.K. is one of the only non-secular first world countries.

c) There is no way that Obama would want to legalize everything the bible condems. For instance, the bible condems murder. For another, he has already stated he has no intentions of legalizing gay marriage.

How it was sent to me in the e-mail. I could reformat it, but most of it's not worth reading anyway. ... And I can't really tell what they're saying.

I know what it is only through the title of the e-mail. And I'm pretty sure they're opposed to this Lear guy, but the quotes they quoted him seem to be supporting him?

I don't know why you're lumping feminists in with these 'feminist theologians'(whatever they are). From the look of things, they'd be completely at odds with one another on most issues. Secondly, women aren't a minority, they're the majority in this country.

These people look like nothing more than some pissed off right-wingers. I have no idea where the feminism aspect fits in to the discussion.

you'll have to excuse typoes, I've had a bit to drink tonight.

Other than the title of the e-mail, which caught my attention more than anything, I don't know where the feminism issue comes up at all. I brought it up again, because of the feminism in the title of the e-mail. The "Real Women of Canada" are far different from most feminists in Canada, and I'm going to assume there's a similar group in America, but they are considered a strain of feminism none-the-less. Much like Liberal Feminists and Radical Feminists are considered Feminists, but hold very seperate ideals from one another. None of the issues that Conservative Feminists hold dear are mentioned in the e-mail, so I'm not sure exactly why they titled the e-mail what they did.

"Women" is considered a minority group, despite whether or not they technically are or not, because of the oppression of women.

conservative feminists are not feminists though. at least, unless you're talking about economic conservative feminists but even then i'd still call them out for supporting partiarchical economic systems.
