unfortunately in detroit we have a huge pop scene: with bands like:

THAT WAS SOMETHING, ROCKY LOVES EMILY, EVERY AVENUE (BUT THEY SORTA MADE IT)

I'm guessing you may have mentioned Bangarang! if they hadn't broken up. And have you listened to Man Overboard? I personally don't think it's that great.

Anyways, I live in Riverside County, and all the good bands are usually in the next cities, like actual Riverside. Riverside has some good bands, but none that will be big. Some bands I think will be big (but are not my taste) are The Premiere, Killed In Action (another generic deathcore band trying to get big after Suicide Silence did it), and The Guilty Parties (ska band, actually like this one). I could name a ton of good bands around my area Southern California, but like I said, none of them will be big by 2010.
