ahhaa. the giants are my team, and they have a pretty solid team this year, i'm waiting to get out of work today, cuz i didn't get it til late last night, so i can play it for a good 3 hours straight on xbox.

i like it...great new effects...the passing adds so much more challenge to it, so no more 600 yard passing games (yet)...the graphics are great when a players having a good game, it's starting to look even more like a televised game...and the end zone dances are great (score with TO against the ravens, he does the ray lewis)...there's just a lot more in this game, it's going to hold me over for a few weeks until football finally starts.

Haha I use to get around 500-600 passing yards per game, but I haven't bought a new Madden in ages.

The passing system is really busting my balls. And they changed some of the other controls around too.

I rented it...can somebody tell me what the truck stick is?

I hate the new passing system and I hate how they changed the controls. The mods to the other stuff is rad (superstar mode is killer) but the gameplay is killing me.

the truck stick allows the ball carrier to lay into defenders abotu ready to plow into you. also, i think it allows you to completely stop and step back but that maybe a different thing.

also, how do you take off and run with the QB? With the new controls, I haven't even figured that out yet. Annoying. Im starting to get the new passing down though. I generally start off without it locked on a reciever unless I know I want that guy. Then I just use the right analog stick to move it around. Its getting somewhat easier.

And my superstar guy got drafted to the Jag's. Sadly Fred Taylor is a solid running back so I give my guy little time. We'll see if I can get traded and be a huge jerk or something.

You just hold A to start sprinting out of the pocket. I hate the vision thing, even though it is more realistic. It's so hard.

I got drafted to the SEAHAWKS. The fucking Seahawks. In the 2nd round. All this after I fought my way through NCAA 06's Race For The Heisman mode and was a 3 time Heisman Finalist (2nd place twice, Senior winner). Yeah that's right, the NCAA game is bullshit cause the Heisman winner doesn't get drafted til the mid 2nd round. Oh. And I can't get any endorsements in Superstar Mode, it's so boring when it's all the same....

NFL 2k5 is a far superior game.

With that said, Superstar mode's awesome and I'm sure franchise mode is as great as it always is.

I went into franchise mode last night just to see if there was any difference.....it's cool. They have a position by positon breakdown of your next opponent, with a somewhat detailed description of the player. For example, if you play the Colts it will say QB: "Manning is an elite NFL passer....etc." LT - "Glenn is a franchise tackle" RE- "Freeney is one of the best speed rushers in the league" MLB - "Morris is a solid NFL starter"....it's cool, I'll probably get into playing it when I get sick of Superstar mode

yeah, i had to learn to pass as well. but, i'm loving it! lol, i actually even kind of feel like i'm dropping back in the pocket. i probably could have done without superstar mode, but we'll see if it's entertaining. the only issue i have to pick with the game at ALL is having to see the vision thingy make the shadows while i'm on defense. it MAY end up helping me too see where he's gonna pass the ball in the end, but i really don't like going into shadow when i'm trying to pick my way into a pass rush.

The controls are pretty tricky, but once you get the hang of it it is pretty good. With the vision thing, if you have it set on the opposite side of the field of where you're intending to throw, the defense will cheat over, then you switch back and have an easier pass. And I love how you can change reciever's routes to actually go longer or shorter to get just past the first down line. Even with all the criticism it is still a solid game.

Anyone else have xbox live? Challenge me. I dare you.

you can use 2005 controls in the settings if you want.

I got drafted in the third round as well. Why don't they have contract stuff? I should have had the ability to holdout if I wanted to.

And what I think I may do is change the controls back to the 05 version. The change players and sprint buttons, like said above, are annoying me.

You guys won't get drafted higher than the 2nd round, because the draft order and ACTUAL players are being drafted before you. To be drafted 1st would make Alex Smith fall in the draft, then he wouldn't be on his team, and the rosters would get all messed up.

- The PS2 version has way too much slow down. Really pisses me off the system can't handle this game

- This is supposed to be year of the QB and pass, but I think it's more defense than anything. I played a game on All Pro, Raiders vs. Patriots, and I won 41-7, even with throwing 6 INTs. I picked off Brady 5 times. There was another game where I played the Rams and Bulger was hurt, so Jamie Martin was the QB. He went 1/15 for 8 yards and 5 INTs. It's not that I'm some defensive master, it's just too easy. More unrealistic than ever before. I had to tamper with the AI to even it out, but picks are still ridiculous. The QB vision stuff is cool if you're playing on Pro, but I had to turn it off on All Pro, which I still struggle to pass on. One thing I like is that you can just hit X to run with the QB and make throws on the run a lot easier. The passing cone is a novel idea, but I hope they dump it next time.

- So many of the playbooks I've tried are terrible. Too many silly routes, so I find myself using hot routes more than ever before. Receivers also drop an unusual amount of passes too. I'm using the West Coast offense playbook now, which isn't too bad. The Run N Gun and Pass Balanced ones are decent to for throwing.

- Got drafted 3rd round by the Giants in Superstar mode, was asked to be traded to Minnesota. Burress and Shockey drop everything. I skip the practices like every time, and just make myself the starter. Another good effort at trying something new, but I wish they'd rather fix the AI more than anything. The graphics are a little cartoonish too.

- Why are Belichick and Parcells too good to have their name listed in the game? They're known as "NE Head Coach" and "Dallas Head Coach". Now I know Belichick was in past Madden's, but Parcells wasn't. What's up with that?

i'm a running back...and somehow was ranked an 86 when i started in superstar mode...i got drafted by the rams, and i'm already right behind stephen jackson.

it's great in superstar mode when your picked by at least a halfway decent team.

i don't know, do coaches have to be in the NFLPA also? they might not have their name liscensed out for it

you guys do know you can turn the controls to madden 05 right? When your playing a game press start then down to gameplay or something then control settings.. im not sure if that is how you do it but just search around in the start menu and you will find out how to change it.

Vision and Precision passing is the best upgrade in a game for quite sometime.

The game is still recycled from last year, we need Next Gen NOW.

Im still enjoying the game quite a bit though, still the best Madden ever, but could've been MUCH better.
