This show was the best two days of my life pretty much.
Particularly the second day - all day saturday was just insanity. I really liked the scene there too - there were basically no assholes and everyone was just in a great fun mood. It ruled so hard.

So sore!!

The first day was a lot of fun, not nearly as good as the 2nd day but we were pretty exhausted after Friday night. We didn't stick around for All that Remains but watched the main headlining bands. Most of the bands only played for 20 mins so the sets are pretty short.

Rose Funeral dropped off (or at least didn't play when they were suppose to) so the first band I saw was Left to Vanish, I had seen them before but they sounded significantly better this time, I wasn't even aware they were the same band cause the first time I saw them they were really bad. But I definitely got into them and they are worth checking out if you like heavy music.

Next band I saw was Merauder, they were a lot of fun, just a good old hardcore band thats still doing it good. I don't listen to them a lot but they were a lot heavier than I remember them being (I saw them a couple years ago), they only played about 5 or 6 songs but they were fun to watch. I can't remember their whole set, but i know they played at least one new song and opened with Master Killer and closed with Life Is Pain which was awesome (that is my favorite song).

Wasn't familiar with Sylosis or Architect (unfortunately not Architects from the UK) but they were decent.

After The Burial were somewhat dissapointing, Im not a huge fan of them but I have definitely seen them do better, they sounded kind of off and their set was the same as it has been for the past year (minus their better songs since they were short on time). I can't remember exactly what their set is right now but i know they played Berzerker and Aspirations, but it was mostly stuff off their new cd.

I caught the Miles Between who i thought were really good, they were one of the only hardcore bands of the day so it was good to get a break from all the metal/deathcore bands. It was a lot of fun, and I recomend checking them out if you are into that style of hardcore similar to xAFBx. Then I saw some of this band called Aggressive Dogs who were an all Asian hardcore band, they were entertaining and pretty good too.

Veil of Maya were really good, I wasn't expecting to get into them that much cause Im not a huge fan of their recordings but they were impressive, best act of the day at that point. There were a lot of people for them, I don't know many of the songs but they did play a new song that was really good and they were way better then After the Burial.

Whitechapel were ok, just your run of the mill deathcore band but they were really really heavy and the pit was pretty intense for them. They are fun to watch and they did sound pretty much identical to their recordings, they were good to watch just for me they weren't really anything special. I know that they played these songs (missing a couple):
Father of Lies
Devirgination Studies
Possession
This Is Exile

Acacia Strain were pretty good but not the best I had seen from them, they did not play 3750 which I was really dissapointed with, but other then that their set was ok. They had some sound issues so there were a couple of songs where the guitar wasn't working at all which kinda sucked. I don't know all the songs that they played but I know they played these ones:
Dr Doom
Angry Mob Justice
4X4 (definitely the best song they played)
JFC
Carbomb

August Burns Red were hands down the best performance of the night, so much fun. They played a real good set and it was just really intense. For me they arent the best band recorded but I love seeing them live, they always bring it. The only thing is I don't think they played any of their older songs. Here is most of their setlist from what I remember, some of it may be wrong so someone feel free to correct it:
Truth Of a Liar
Up Against The Ropes
Back Burner
The Blinding Light
Vital Signs
Eleventh Hour
New Song
Composure

The only other band I watched was Between The Buried and Me, and I know Im the only one on here that will feel this way but I thought they were terrible. I mean, they are cool to watch, but I just can't get into their music, plus they played for what seemed like 3 hours (which is a good thing if you like them, but I didnt), it just got old fast for me. They didn't play my favorite songs off of Alaska (the only album Im familiar with). That being said though, you will love them if you are a fan, they played for a long time, they were cool, fun to watch. They said they were releasing a new record soon but weren't ready to play songs off of it. The only songs I know for sure that they played were Mordecai and All Bodies, I loved All Bodies and it sounded really good, I was gonna be really pissed if they didn't play it. For me their set was just one really really long song, I just can't get into that.

2nd day was amazing, my whole body is still sore from it, so many good bands, so much fun.

First band I saw were Dead Swans, they are from the UK and were the first band which kinda sucked for them, they are some of the nicest dudes. If you are into hardcore, definitely check them out. I am a huge fan of them so I was like the only one who knew their songs and could sing along, it was a lot of fun. I honestly think they were one of the most impressive bands of the day. Here is what they played (missing one song)
Preferring the Worst
Tin Heart
Lines of Separation
20/07/07
The Hanging Sun

Then I saw Defeater who were really good, I just recently got into them, and like them alot, especially after seeing them live. I really like that acoustic song that is at the end of Prophet in Plain clothes, and they opened with that. He had no mic or amp or anything, he just started playing the guitar and singing at the top of his lungs, a great way to start the set, I haven't seen a hardcore band do anything like that. Im pretty sure this is their set, it could be off, so someone can correct it if they need to:
Acoustic song
Blessed Burden
Everything Went Quiet
Nameless Streets
City By Dawn
Prophet In Plain Clothes

I saw the band Century too and thought they were a pretty good band, worth checking out. One of the members were in This or The Apocalypse who I was able to check out and they were really good, I have seen them before but they sounded much better this time around, had a lot of fun during their set.

Then I went back and forth between the Carrier and The Ghost Inside, both were playing at the same time and they both were pretty good. The main song I was waiting for with the Carrier was Alcatraz which they played last and it was really aweosme. I was able to catch the following from The Ghost Inside:
The Brave
New Song
Faith or Forgiveness
But I assume that they played these songs too:
Provoke
Destined
Disintegrator
Shiner

Then I immediately ran upstairs to see This is Hell, of course I thought they were the best band of the day. They played so fast and just pounded through their set and played all of the greats off Sundowning, it was really awesome. They had the old drummer for their set (because he was also playing for Soldiers and Stray From The Path) so that was good cause he is an amazing drummer. Im just gonna say you are missing out if you have not listened to this band yet, so good. For me it was the most fun of the day, I just wish they could have played longer. Here is their set:
Retrospect
Prelude (again)
Permanence
Show No Mercy (Cromags cover)
Polygraph Cheaters
Broken Teeth

Cruel Hand were also amazing, I just saw them a couple weeks ago and they are one the most impressive hardcore bands around, they have a really big fan base, crowd was probably going the most nuts for them. Again I wish they could have played longer but they play a good set for the time that they had (wish that they played Above and Below though):
Hounds
Life In Shambles
Begin Descension
House Arrest
Damaged Goods
Wisdom Pain
Prying Eyes
Dead Weight

Trapped Under Ice were pretty good, it was a big difference between this performance and when I saw them at United Blood, crowd wasn't going nearly as nuts. I didn't catch all of their set but I know they played Half A Person and Stay Cold.

In between performances I caught some of Iwrestledabearonce who were ok, I was hoping for them to sound better though, the screaming sounded really good but the instruments were hard to hear and overall just sounded messy but they did play Ulrich Firelord: Breaker of Mountains and Alaskan Flounder Basket. Winds of Plague, who weren't amazing or anything I have seen them too many times, I know they played these songs:
The Impaler
Angels of Debauchery
Anthems of the Apocalypse
But Im pretty sure they played Decimate the Weak, and Reloaded

In between those bands I was over at the 3rd stage watching Soldiers and Stray from the Path who were awesome, it was a ton of fun, there weren't a lot of people there but everyone who was there was having a good time and new the songs and stuff, definitely one of the better performances of the day.
Here is Soldiers set:
Even Worse
Sever Ties
Relentless
Since Day One
The Reclamation

Stray From The Paths Set:
Capital
New Song
To Vanish
Spectre and His Mantra
New Song
White Flag
Villian

Terror was nuts as expected one of the best of the day, the only thing was they were forced to play a really short set so their set didn't have as many old songs as usual, but still a lot of fun stagediving and stuff. They always know how to get the crowd moving, it was very intense. Here is their set, pretty good, I just wished they ended with an older song:
One With The Underdogs
Let Me Sink
Push It Away
Strike You Down
Voice of The Damned
Out Of My Face
Spit My Rage
Betrayer

Have Heart was another amazing performance, most would probably say they were the best of night (although I disagree). They were able to play a little longer but they still didn't play for that long and their set was a lot shorter than what I am used to seeing from them, here is what they played (missing a new song):
To Us Fools
Something More Than Ink
Pave Paradise
Life Is Hard Enough
Watch Me Sink
Hard Bark On the Family Tree
The Machinist
Unbreakable

At that point I was completely exausted, all that were left were the headlining metalbands. Didn't really watch Municipal Waste or God Forbid. Children of Bodom were pretty good, I haven't listened to them in years, they aren't really my thing anymore but they brought back memories and they still are amazing musicians, very entertaining. Here is what I remember from their set (may be missing one):
Silent Night Bodom Night
Hate Me
Hellhounds on my Trail
Living Dead Beat
Angels Don't Kill
In Your Face
Blood Drunk
Bodom Beach Terror

As I Lay Dying was the last band I stayed for, they have always been fun to see live no matter what kind of music you are into. Unlike a lot of the metalcore acts they still know how to put on an awesome show, it was a lot of fun, I will always make it to their shows if I can (they are playing Atlanta tomorrow but I can't exactly pay $40 to get into a show that they aren't even headlining). They did a good job of mixing it up between old and new stuff but their set is about the same as it was last year:
Through Struggle (really awesome opening song)
Nothing Left
Within Destruction
Forever
Empty Hearts
Meaning In Tragedy
Sound of Truth
94 Hours
Confined

I didn't stay for Lamb of God, was way too tired. Overall it was a really great show, all great bands, the hardcore bands were the best simply for the fact that there was no barrier or security to really deal with. The crowd was really good too, no drama or fights or anything like Im used to in Atlanta. Definitely gonna try to make it out to next years fest, it is a great time.

I could have sworn that August Burns Red played Blinding Light and Vital Signs but I can't remember now, I don't remember them playing American Dream either.

As I lay Dying did not play Pain of Separation or An Ocean Between us, I saw a setlist with that but they definitely didn't play those songs.

Im pretty sure that Winds of Plague played Angles of Debauchery also.

Ghost Inside played a new song in addition to those songs.

Yeah, they usually play at least 2 songs off Without a Pulse but since they only had 20 mins i guess they chose not to play them, I thought they could have done a better set with the time they had but they make their shows really fun no matter what they play.

Oh ok, they probably did play that as an intro then, nevermind (but they did not play the song An Ocean Between Us)
