Who?

An eclectic pop-rock band that was generous enough to pass around their Fictions EP free, with no strings attached.

How Is It?

Snowsera's Fictions EP is full of both exuberance and intelligence. It's got a flair all its own, and vocalist Bill Arteaga holds his own behind the mic extremely well. Their instrumentation is extremely concise, and they manage to nail down an extremely full sound without the seemingly necessary dual-guitar approach that 90% of bands seem to be using. His solos are even impressive, most notably the one in "Runaway." The songs are catchy, though fortunately not the "stuck in your head" kind of catchy.

For the most part, the tracks stay lively and "danceable." The only exception to this is "Darling," which is a bit more subdued, but still executed without a hitch. Basically, I don't have a qualm with this EP. The arrangements and writing are both intelligent, it's catchy, and the musicians more than hold their own. If you've been looking for a fresh new band to brag to your friends about, then don't hesitate to go download Fictions and share it with all of them. Who knows, in the process you may just find your new favorite band.
