I thought the new fall of troy, while good, is the worst thing that they've done.

There was too much old shit on there, yea the production sounds good, but I was let down at how quickly I tired of it. It doesn't touch the first one, or even the ghostship ep.

they wanted to redo the old songs because they werent finished when they went in to record them the first time, and they didnt have enough money at the time. I'm sure if you were in the band you would hold those songs close to your heart too and want those songs to sound better and put them out for the world to hear.

Yea but I'm sure 90% of the people that hear Doppelganger are going to / have heard the first album

well F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. is soooo much better reworked, plus they rerecorded my favorite song from the s/t ("whacko jacko...") so it's all money.

Yea FCP was an exception because they really changed it, but I was perfectly fine with the old versions of the other songs. Don't get me wrong I still like the album, it was just a letdown.

True, there wasn't anything skipworthy on that album.

Damn. To each their own. You can tell the production and sound is much fuller on Doppelganer, especially after listening to the S/T, Then Doppelganger. I guess i like fuller verisons. Anywho, anything they do is ace. Ever since Thirty Years War.
woo!

Yeah, every time my friends ask for Doppelganger, I always make them listen to the self titled for at least a week, because they won't appreciate Doppelganger as much if they just listened to it first.

The Fall of Troy is fantastic, i can not wait to see these guys live. Everyone should go out and buy this cd the moment it hits stores because these guys really deserve the attention they get. This may sound like a stupid question, but what are the 2 songs other than symphony on their myspace page? they're incredible songs, i heard they're part of a potential album called ghost ship or something? can anyone clear that up?

wait so these songs are already on AN album? I've been listening to the fall of troy for like 7 months or so but i've never seen this album. I saw their debut album which has like a brown cover, but thats the only other thing i've seen from this band. I'd love to get a cop of their EP.

it's the first thing i heard from the fall of troy way long ago. yes. it's a demo they passed out only at shows and for awhile on their online store i believe. anywho, it sounds outstanding nonetheless.
Ghostship (Demo)
1. Ghostship Part I
2. Ghostship PartIV
3. Ghostship PartV
4. Macauly Claukin
I also have a live Thirty Years War show & some Thirty Years War regular stuff. Also some Tribune (a band Erak was in way back i believe). And some kick-ass live videos. hehe.

Dang, i'd love to get those songs, maybe one day they'll make a remastered disk with all the ghostship songs on them. Macauly Claukin is on their new cd right?

I lost my respect for you with the chiodos avatar and thinking TFOT is great. the band is going to die out faster than richter in a crowded market.

that statement couldn't be farther from the truth, considering doppelganger is their EVR debut...they're about to get on some huge tours and gain a bunch of new fans that have never heard them before. That's not even CLOSE to true.
