They used to be sloppy and akward....and their lyrics have improved dramaticly.

i think it might be the way it does come together, youre right. most bands that blend metal and hardcore with emo screamo or whatever the fuck, this band does it and its catchy, it can go from a pop-punk sequence into a breakdown seamlessly, the vocals are addicting to, didnt like them at 1st, now i love them...whatever i can definitely understand why people wouldnt like them but they SHOULD! jk :)

I've been liked these guys for a while now, but I'm really disappointed that so many of the songs are old. They all sound good, but they were fine to begin with. Esepcially with how rocking the Ghostship demos were, I would have rather had those songs on here or songs similar to it than so much older material. Either way it's still good stuff, but I wish more of it was new. And good review.

Thank you Scott, for an awesome review of an incredible album. People found it odd that I played these guys on my last show, but I have to say that the album had me listening again and again. After their self-titled, I quickly fell in love with the band. Upon hearing the Ghostship demos, I was definitely excited to hear more. When I heard the two songs Equal Vision released, I was a little skeptical. But after hearing the album as a whole, they really proved up to the hype!

Am I the only one who doesn't see anything particularly special or great about this band? Everyone raves about how wonderful and amazing the band is, but I hear nothing that appeals to me. It reminds me of Alexisonfire's first release. I'm not saying that it is the same, just reminded me of that on my first listen. I honestly can't listen to more than 45 seconds of the songs before I get irritated. Not shitting on anyone who likes the cd. To each his own. I am curious if there anyone else out there who isn't impressed.

so i only have 2 of the 4(?) ghostship demos. if anyone wants to send me the whole lot of em...yeah i'd like that.
on a side note, chiodos brothers are amazing. i acutally like their LP much more than their previous EP, even though it's still very good. i can't get over how good of a song All Nereids Beware is. one of my songs of the year...the lyrics are amazing. and the accapella vocals at the end....splooge.

i think you are the only one, the musicianship on this cd is spectacular enough. then to find out they are only a 3-piece is fucking intense to me. regardless of how much you could possibly hate this band, you cant deny their ridiculous amount of talent.

Yes.... Listen to the guitars man, honestly... this band is amazing. Especially for just 3 kids.

There's only like 3 ghostship demos but I have their s/t and new full length on soulseek if you want to check it out. If you like it, definitely order it!

Doppelganger reminds me alot of the self-titled album... Maybe because they re-recorded a bunch of songs... It would've been a much better album if they would've just written all new material for it... FCP Remix was the only song that I really liked redone... The others all seemed to either sound the same, or just not sound too great... For example, Symphony and Tom Waits are sped up superfast on the new album... The point in music isn't always to play things as hard or as fast as it can possibly be done. But yeah, I did like the new songs like the Holloway Tape, Ace One Scene One, etc...

there was never an official recording of that song, only a demo was out of it, i dont know how you can even complain about that track when it was never even complete befor ethe record was finished. And whoever said the FoT were trying to just write the hardest music ever to play?! If they wanted to do that, Erak would probably be doing 2 minute shred solos and shit. They do what they want. And they do it well.

I have the Ghosthsip Demo but it's 3 Ghostship tracks (I, IV, V) and Macualy Caulkin.

TFoT produce a better melody/chaos sound. I've never thought of Alexisonfire when listening to TFoT. You're probably the only one there. To each his own. I love these guys, I think they are totally refreshing and it's nice to see true talent being put out.

I have to say, as much as I love The Fall of Troy, I didn't enjoy the new cd as much as I hoped. First off, they redid to many songs, and the whole cd sounds over produced. I mean the new songs are awsome, but when i listen to the demo of tom waits and laces out dan, and then i listen to the cd versions, i love the sound of the demo versions so much better, you can just feel the msuic so much better. I dont know what else to say... They are still awsome though.
