The old thread can be found here (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=803662).

I added SoCo since I forgot about them in the other poll, and some other bands as well.

I don't know what's considered "old" but Steel train has been on Drive Thru since 2002

This...and The Early November without a doubt

All the bands listed are from the MCA glory days of Drive-Thru (except TEN, but don't quote me). I think that is what the person who posted this was going for.

Anyway...

I picked Fenix. They still hold a special place in my heart. I actually own every album made by every one of those bands. Now that I think about it, they are all great!

(I honestly don't care because I wouldn't have voted for them but you forgot Homegrown, lol)

I understand that but having Early November in there is kind of weird. They don't belong in this poll.

In what way?

In what way?
does it matter...people who would pick early november or steel train in the first place should be placed inside a box.

but btw if you want to do old school drive thru bands....u should include homegrown on the list, alhough they wouldnt crack my top 3 list.

All of those bands are kind of the best, except fenix tx. They blew. I went with NFG though, gotta pay respect where respect is due.

i disagree buddy. "the room's too cold" came out in 2003, and that is one of my all time favorite records. also, "life in dreaming" (hipv) came out in 2005, which is also a super solid record. TEN and HIPV are the two best dtr bands of the later years.

there was a similar post to this the other day but with less bands to choose from.

the starting line wins it for me with nfg just behind. then it's a battle for third place between soco and ten.

Where's Home Grown?

This.

But even if they had been on there I would have gone with Midtown. TEN was a close second though, ridiculously hard choice.

If Homegrown was here, I doubt they'd be in the top 5 of this poll.

This poll hurts because all those bands were so good. How the hell can I pick one without second guessing myself =(

tough call between NFG and the movielife. went with NFG mainly because they're still around

i hate the starting line.

VIVALAMATT
01/28/09, 01:26 PM
The answer is The Early November

NFG only released one thing that I liked on DTR, which was Sticks. Everything after that was partially Geffen, if I'm correct.

VIVALAMATT
01/28/09, 01:28 PM
ugh it pisses me off that more people picked the Starting Line and Something Corporate than The Early November. those bands cant hold a stick to the albums that TEN put out.

extremely difficult choice, but i voted for The Early November

And if I'm not mistaken, Dashboard Confessional were there as well.

My vote is for SoCo... but on another day it could've easily been NFG. There really isn't a bad band on that list, but SoCo and NFG (and maybe The Starting Line) top it for me.
