I just saw you talking about them in the Paramore Thread, so I downloaded both there EP's and I actually like what I hear. Although I don't like Circa Survive. She sounds alot like Hayley, but the actual songs being played don't sound as much like Paramore.

This is true.

Her voice is resemblant of Hayley's, but I must say, she's probably better vocally. Her sustain is also incredible. Quite a set of pipes on lil' Sierra.

Their music is much heavier than Paramore - the double-bass drums in "In Pursuing Design" comes as a surprise at first, but they end up pummeling you into submission.

They're really creative, which is why I like them so much - they're original (taking a look at all the chick-fronted bands out there.)

Granted, we don't have the noodly stuff going over anything, but I like that
a) This sounds better, in audio quality, than the Perceptions EP.
b) It's commercial. This can get more people into VE.

It's still heavier and more progressive than Paramore, so I don't see why anyone would complain.

I agree. I know female fronted bands tend to get compared with Paramore (recently at least) but when the bands are so dissimilar (such as VE and Paramore) I think they're just doing it for that reason.

My copy of the new Ep finally arrived today and I don't know what I was expecting but I was NOT expecting this. I cannot even express how much I want to wax lyrical about this CD. Whisperer and The Hider in particular have just left me speachless. I have never heard anything like it and I love the direction they're going. It's like they're filling the void left after the theatrical stuff on Panic! At The Disco's first effort, and yet cutting their own path too.

I probably sound like an idiot, but I was bamboozled by it :ymca:
