Yo music forumers, my post-rock band Shattered by the Sea put our ep up on myspace! I was wondering if you guys could spare a minute to check it out please. I would put it in self promotion but no one ever checks self promotion so it would be sort of a waste, I figure out of 25k or so posts one self promo one isn't too horrible!

Well actually almost the whole ep, one song is missing from the 'space. It's close though.

Song that's not up there:

Hm. I'm not really that stoked on it to tell you the truth...I mean, it's not bad, but it's just not my flavor of post-rock. It seems to instant-gratification-y, you know what I mean? Especially Calm Before the Storm. It seems like you never really properly (imo) develop phrases; once you introduce something you never really let it grow/breathe. Of the songs up there, my favorite is Fragments. I really like that track. Don't care for the first two at all and the last one is decent.

I'd also like to mention that that artwork is absolutely badass. Seriously one of my favorite album covers.

Yeah dude seriously thanks for checking it out woo! I know what you mean, the songs are relatively short (for post rock, under 10 minutes each) and we don't repeat/build on certain parats/phrases very often, we figured we would go for the more neo-post-rock thing or whatever people are calling it where the songs are shorter and more to the point I guess.

p.s. fragments is my favorite too! haha.

I wish I could make it mine but when I try to it gets all stretched out and shit. Our friend that did artwork for us is super awesome.

Yeah so I guess my point is that it's not bad, it's just not my thing.

I'd love to hear what you guys do in the future though...keep me updated.

Decent. Pleasant, but nothing that out of the ordinary. But better be in a post-rock band that a powerpop one.

Oh hey! It's every post rock band ever!

Well I like post rock, so I don't mind sounding like...post rock. Next time I will try my hardest to shatter the boundaries of a musical genre though.

Why settle for any less than being the best you can be? Or is generic the best you can do?

No, but I like what we did/the type of music we play. If you think it sounds like other stuff, that's cool, but I like it the way it sounds, the fact that other bands like that sound too doesn't matter to me.

I have it centred so it sits nicely with the black bordering the out sides.

Yeah I just did that too, it looks pretty neat.
