Co & Ca make some damn good music. I downloaded the samplers that have been floating around and honestly, I haven't been the most impressed with their new stuff so far (excluding Welcome Home)... BUT, I realize these aren't mastered and are simply demos. I'm fully anticipating this to be in my top 5 at the year's end.

What the hell? They just released the video for "Welcome Home" yesterday...this sure is strange. How is it strange? Most bands/labels have singles picked out WAY before the albums are even released. The post didn't say, "New video airing next week!" it just simply said they had their next single picked out and had ideas for a video.

Hey Tate, you fucker I'm back. I'm sure it won't be a long visit, since you're a fucking Nazi, and have banned 3 of my IP's already. Well I'm bored, and not home, and thought I'd pay your pathetic ass a visit.
Speaking of pathetic, notice you're the only zine that reviews albums before their release date? Oh oh right, it's because you're a giant douche nozzle. A douche nozzle that has absolutely no respect from anybody from any other zine on the net. But that's okay right? Because you're 6'3" 245 lbs and if you saw me on the street you'd tear my ass apart. Isn't that how you so eloquently worded it on the Punknews boards?
Speaking of, no review for Somerset's 'Pandora'? The jealousy bug biting you a bit too hard? Poor Tate. Poor, pathetic Tate.
Oh and finally, to the asshat that said Andrew MacMahon is one of the greatest songwriters of our generation, what in the fuck were you thinking? Jesus. You're putting him in the same category as Elliott Smith and John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats? You're out of your fucking mind. Stop jerking off over there and write an objective review.

if you ask anyone outside the "scene" what they think about Coheed you can usually get a response along the lines of "stupid pop punk bandz with their high pitch singers!1111111 get offa mah radio so i can hear more staind."

umm, i'm pretty sure they are all mastered. the version of welcome home on the sampler is better quality than any other rip floating around so i'd imagine the other 2 are mastered. and the suffering is definately mastered. it even included the radio edit... why would they release an unmastered track to radio?

This sounds stupid on the part of their record company in my opinion. You release a single before the album is out to garner interest/buzz and then later rlease a 2nd single after the album is out to attract fans that didn't necessarily hear of the 1st single. I think it's absolutely rediculous to release 2 singles before the album has even hit the shelves. Who came up with this marketing strategy? Obviously, I'll eat my words if it works, but it just seems a little stupid to me.

actually, this marketing strategy has been insanely planned out. it goes far beyond welcome home and the release of a second single. welcome home was released to generate a buzz and give fans a way to preview the new coheed. the release of the album and the release of the second single will be pretty big. i am sure there are big plans for rock and hard rock radio. and it seems that they are allowing fans to preview more of the record and enjoy the new music before they go out to spend their money.

well 89x in Detroit plays Welcome Home...but usually when bands release a single they play another song instead of that single. The Suffering isnt being released in all markets right away, and the video isnt being made right out, they just say they know who is going to do it and what to expect.

Not to say I agree with Automation, since frankly, I don't know what the fuck he's talking about. But censorship really is an egregious error, in my opinion. It's not my website so it isn't my call, but he has exhibited that he's rather insecure, bored, idiotic and angry, so just allow people to take swings at his clear aptitude for E-tardation. Censorship just ruins the fun for everybody.

The live stuff i've heard like ten speed and the writing writer seem to be a lot harder and in my opinion better than the studio songs like the suffering and wake up. Ten speed has a killer chorus. The final cut is cool too but goes on a little long. Does anyone know if there is going to a secret song on this cd or not? I saw the tracklisting with the times, but i dunno, there might be something more.

I've heard 4 new songs off the new album. Co & Ca is my favorite band. I love the new songs but I noticed something. This is the first time Coheed have written songs that dont sound like their own. "Welcome Home" has some parts that blatantly rip off Cashmir by Led Zepplin, and the Willing Well 2 sounds dead on like a Rush song.
Also, The Suffering sounds like Blood Red Summer and Three Evils fucked and had a kid
and Wake up has a very light and the glass feel to it. But I must say, Wake Up is probably one of my favorite Coheed songs. Its the first time I've heard Claudio sing something that really sounds like it means something to him
From what ive heard though, this record is going to kick ass

Planning ahead of an album release is what's meant to happen. Everything that's out there is mastered with the exception of the Welcome Home webrip.
Welcome Home CDS is mastered, the sampler is mastered, and The Suffering CDS is mastered. I really cannot wait for this CD. I'm more excited for this than Brand New. Mainly because Brand New are probably dead, and I need to here a few seconds of Thrice.
