Yeah, that's awesome.

I love keeping the shit I listened to three years ago and to track how my tastes have evolved from 18 to 21. It's always intriguing to go back and browse through the list of artists that monopolized my iTunes the second week of February 2007 as opposed to the artists I was enamored with in the second week of January 2009. It's a testament to the things we liked when we liked them. That's ultimately the purpose of Last.FM to me; to trace the evolution of taste and to have a snapshot of what you were listening to at any given time in a year.

For the record, the first week (December 2006) I was on Last.FM, I was loving The Decemberists, Tegan and Sara, The Polyphonic Spree, Brand New, Forgive Durden, and This Providence. Yeah. Good (Decemberists), mediocre (Brand New, Tegan and Sara) and bad (Polyphonic Spree, Forgive Durden and This Providence).

It's fun to see that in the context to my recent week: Marissa Nadler, Vashti Bunyan, Murder by Death, Rudresh Manhanthappa, King Kahn and the Shrines, Black Lips and Coconut Records.

It will be equally as fun to compare this week with one from a year or two.

It was definitely interesting going back and deleting all the junk. I found a ton of unsigned pop-punk acts from ages ago that I decided to look up on Myspace. Oh nostalgia.
I wish I had thought of the week approach before doing this, so I atleast could have seen those type of breakdowns. Oh well. I was more concerned with not having 800 Holiday Parade plays... ;-)

Exactly. If you need something to "reflect what you're listening to at the time," you iTunes does it for you perfectly, documenting how many times you've listened to a particular track and when.

Last.FM is something to be seen by yourself and others. It's a catalogue of everything you've listened to. Why just have it for what you're listening to now? You're aware of what you're enjoying at the moment because, well, it's still that moment. Fuck cred. We all listening to some godawful music from time to time. Why be ashamed?

Yes. Tom Delonge willingly told someone to photoshop angel wings onto a picture of him staring meaningfully into the sky. The level of douche that he has attained via these means puts him close to that of Gene Simmons and David Lee Roth.

God, I should have put all these militant AVA tools on ignore years ago. Makes this place so much easier on the eyes.

Also SpacePunk: worst username since CrazyRockGirl.

What's your avatar, Andrew?

Also, find it funny how someone can say I look like a pedofile when I'm 18 and they're 33 on a site full of 20 year old and younger kids, ha.

Wow, I saw you post that pic of DeLonge/AvA wings the last time I saw you bash him.

Did that pic leave a lasting impression on you?

1. SpacePunk is WAY worse.
2. This could possibly be considered stalking and harassment. (even though that's not his).
3. You're a bigot and a homophobe.
4. You're probably will be banned.

dancelukedance got banned for referring to baseball as "gay." I'd say this is a bit worse.

i bet in that case the mild and unintentional homophobia was used as an excuse to ban him because he was a fucking idiot. not that thats a bad thing, i completely condone that guy getting banned.

Thank you. It's one of my favorite album covers. It's the cover of the Arrows & These Hands Could Separate The Sky split 12". Great record.
