View Full Version : Obama Begins Reversing Bush's Environmental Acts
Under the Bush Administration, the EPA had denied individual states from setting their own emissions standards - naturally, because automakers and the oil industry opposed it. Today, President Obama started reversing such acts.
The impact will be that California, along with the 11 other currently interested states, will be able to set tight restrictions on emissions. Cali wants to cut their emissions by 30% in 8 years.
More information on it here (http://www.greenerideal.com/politics/obama-starts-reversing-bush-environmental-acts/).
Is there any negative impact to this that I'm not seeing?

Anyway, I think this was pretty much expected. Obama and McCain both talked a lot about doing similar things. I'm glad it's getting attention so soon though.

I hope my car would still pass emissions standards in California :-| It's definitely a good idea though, I'm all for it.

On the individual level, it might work... but when it comes to factories and other big polluting structures, they'll just move to states where these restrictions aren't imposed on the industry.
