for a week to hang out with someone I met on the real PostSecret Community. I just bought my flight (225 from PHX to Midway) and yeah... scared/excited. I'll be out there during Valentine's Day, and yeah, I don't really know what to do for it. Any ideas?

i think there was thread about someone in a similar situation i little bit ago... i'll see if i can track it down for ya.
edit: here she be- http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=793182&highlight=chicago
this was originally about moving/living there... but i'm sure you'll find some decent information about fun things to do for a visit as well. off the top of my head, millennium park and giordano's pizzas are both must sees/eats.
also, here's a link to a directory of a bunch of venues in chicago if you're looking to catch a show while you're here. http://centerstage.net/music/clubs/directory/

Are you staying with the person, or are you getting your own hotel?
I've been to Chicago about 15 times now in the last year and a half.
Things you should do: go see the bean/take a mirror pic there, go to giordanos and then unos, go to the north side of chicago and discover the wonders of pick me up cafe (best milkshake and grilled cheese ever), and don't waste your money on the sears tower.
downtown is always nice. i.e. lakeshore drive, michigan ave, water tower place, institute of art, etc.

Navy Pier always works, same with Michigan ave. Try to see a show...good venues in Chicago. If you need bars, hit up Wrigleyville (collegey) or a ya could try some of the clubs there.

I hear the chain of Uno's is nothing like the OG.
And I'm staying with her, at her apt.
Owl City/Swimming With Dolphins is playing, but it's sold out. :-/ But the auto show starts the 13th so we're both excited for that, lol.
Oh, Walrus is playing with 1997 too, that may be something to do.

chicago is a badass city so even if she ends up being really weird you'll have fun. go to the west egg for breakfast if you're in lincoln park

desperate much?
navy pier is boring and wrigleyville is kinda meh, especially in the winter time. I know murder by death is playing a few shows around that time, and methadones @ empty bottle. Also going to an improv show would probably be something fun for both of you to do.

I'm from southern Illinois and, after interracting with them in college this year, i can tell you one necessary truth:
Chicago girls are, for some odd reason, grade A. And I don't even mean in a sleezy way. Just in general an upgrade over most places.
