yeah so I love Imogen Heap, yeah.. that isn't news to anyone. but I was wondering how I could get her to be mentioned on AP's main page? she's going to be on tour in September (in the US!) and I want more people to show up at her shows, but obviously, they have to check her out first. I figured that if she was mentioned on AP then people would get to know about her and her music and maybe go to her concerts. she's not really all that famous or anything, which is sad because she's amazing. I want her music to be heard. I'm not even on her street team or getting anything for promoting her the way I have been, so that should say a lot.
could a staff member possibly include her in their weekely recommendations? or have me be part of their recommendations (hey! I like some good music, at least I like to think I do) cause then I'd do it myself (and recommend a few other bands too). it would mean a lot to me. and you as a user of this website, go check out her music if you haven't yet. I'll even send you n00dz of myself if you do. or n00dz of Trevor.. whatever works.

i think its a good idea to have her mentioned on the page eda, i know nothing about her other than your sig, so i'm sure people who haven't seen the sig probably don't know her at all. You should send in a news post and see if it gets anywhere, the site really should open up a bit rather than just focusing on "punk" and more on music

they should have me on staff.. as the one who always recommends unknown INDIE bands. I like how small bands are mentioned here, but 99% of them are bands that are part of this "scene". I guess there's nothing wrong with that.. but I'd love it if other bands who aren't part of the "scene" to get mentioned. think about death cab..... how many people love them now? there's so many other bands like them out there who get no recognition and it sucks. and think about elliott smith. he wasn't all that popular which is just sad. a talent like that shouldn't go unnoticed, but unfortunately... that often happens. there's so many musicians who are almost as talented, and I want them to be heard even if they're not part of this scene.

yeah I know, but I don't think I'd want to be a reviewer. I just want to recommend bands to people. I guess in a way I already do that to people I talk to from here but I want more people to know about these musicians/bands...

Honestly, IH isn't all that great.
If Garden State didn't have Frou Frou on the soundtrack, they'd still be unknown as well as IH.
I mean, the obvious jump in record sales for Frou Frou AFTER GS was out is obvious.

I mean, the obvious jump in record sales for Frou Frou AFTER GS was out is obvious.I have no idea where you're trying to get at. A lot of good bands are unknown. Take Death Cab for example. Without the O.C. I'm sure they'd still be pretty unknown, so what is your point? That if a band is unknown then they're not so good?
And.. based on whatever else you listen to, it doesn't surprise me that you don't like Imogen Heap. However, her lyrics and voice are amazing.
