man i love that last scene, where he gets his feet cut off with wire. soooo brutal.

is there anybody else who is in love with takashi miike. all his movies are wonderful.

Such a brutal, unforgettable film. I could barely watch the last 20 minutes. You feel like screaming at the main guy on the screen saying "leave now!"

Movie was disappointing as fuck. Plot was just kind of a boring mess. If you're looking for a movie like this that's intelligent, check out Martyrs.

is this one of those movies that only gets recognition due to one crazy scene? i've heard a lot about this movie, but the only part they talk about is the torture scene at the end.

is everything leading up to it worth watching?

If you thought it was boring then you didn't get it. Plain and simple. Also, stop jocking Martyrs, it's nothing like Audition and has no reason to be mentioned in this thread. Also, this thread is four years old.

This tbh. I was gripped from start to finish. I knew going in it wasn't just 2 hours of graphic violence.

Immense build up to a crazy finale + a lot of comedy along the way? Yes, please. Also, I don't know what Martyrs is- I can queue it and all, but now I'm not sure if I wanna. WAH WAH.

The sack scene happens quite early on and makes for a tense hour or so

Saw this movie for the first time tonight, I'm still working through the last few horror movies I queued up on Netflix for Halloween season.

Maybe it just got overhyped, but I was kind of disappointed.
