I don't get why you people want this stuff. You liked it as a kid, maybe, but what makes you think any of this shit is still going to be interesting/engaging? Have you gone back and watched an episode of Saved by the Bell, or some other shitty 90's show, in the last 5 years? They're all fucking awful. Its wasted money.
Rocko's Modern Life is the only real answer here.

It's fun to be nostalgic sometimes. Plus, I've started a collection for my future kids to watch. So far, I've got:
ALF (all four seasons)
Simpsons (first 10 seasons)
King of the Hill (first 2 seasons)
Heathcliff (a collection)
Care Bears (movie)
Alvin and the Chipmunks (specials)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (first 3 seasons of original cartoon)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I and II (movies)
Fraggle Rock (5 different collections)
Duck Tales (first season)
He-Man (first season)
Teddy Ruxpin (on VHS)
Noozles (on VHS)
Gumby (on VHS)
Tale Spin (on VHS)
What I would like:
Mr. Belvedere (comes out in March)
The Wonder Years
Growing Pains
Doug
Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers (out, but I don't have it)
Punky Brewster (out, but I don't have it)
Tiny Toons (out, but I don't have it)
You Can't Do That On Television
Pinwheel
The Beatles Cartoon series
Perfect Strangers (out, but I don't have it)
Wuzzles
The Get Along Gang
Garfield and Friends (out, but I don't have it)
Gummi Bears (out, but I don't have it)
Captain N the Game Master (out, but I don't have it)
The Super Mario Bros Super Show (out, but I don't have it)
Danger Mouse (out, but I don't have it)
The Mysterious City of Gold
Inspector Gadget (out, but I don't have it)
Thundercats (out, but I don't have it)
Of course, I'm a little older than most of you.

for the love of god yes! i freaking loved the state and i've looked high and low on the internet looking for bootlegs, to no avail. i guess i'll just have to settle for stella, wet hot american summer, the baxter and the ten for now. those three dudes were geniuses, especially wain.

Like I said, I wouldn't expect a ton of people on this forum to appreciate those shows. They were great shows from my youth that I can share with my future kids. If they don't like them, fine. I refuse to admit that Spongebob and Power Rangers are better.

That's a nice collection. Why do you say The Wonder Years won't ever happen?

To be fair the shows you listed are nostalgiac to you because you were a kid when you saw them. I know Power Rangers was stupid as hell, but put the Green With Evil episodes on and I'll watch them all.
And hell yes to The PJs. There was another claymation show I remember too, but it was really short lived.

music cost would be astronamical. there's like 6 or 7 different copy righted songs per episode and most play an important role in the scene so they can't be replaced.
nowadays shows secure music rights for the original airing, syndication, and future DVD sales....back in the days of the Wonders Years they normally only did it for the original airing.
the only hope is that Shout Factory, the indie label that made Freaks and Geeks possible, gets ahold of the DVD rights and pays the huge fees for the music.

That's it! I used to tape it before it ended, never got to see how it ended. I think they just stopped airing it here even before the season ended.

Maybe that's one of the reasons I loved that show so much. It wouldn't be the same without the music. What a shame though.

Whoever said that future kids would hate the tv shows we grew up on or that the shows aren't as good now, that's total bs. Sure some of it is ehh, but I still regularly watch the Disney Afternoon shows I grew up on as well as Fraggle Rock and The Muppet Show.
Ones I've got:
TaleSpin - Vol. 1 and 2
Ducktales - Vol. 1, 2 and 3
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers - Vol. 1 and 2
Gummi Bears - Vol. 1
Darkwing Duck - Vol. 1 and 2
Fraggle Rock - Season 1
The Muppet Show - Seasons 1 and 2
I've also got a bunch of the Disney Treasures collections of old old Disney shorts. Great stuff.
