Anyone else here listen to them on a regular basis?! If not, you should check some of their material. Progressive Metal that's hard to categorize. Death/Clean Vocals, music that transitions flawlessly from clean to distorted guitar. They are one of a kind. I suggest the albums "Still Life" and "Blackwater Park" for their heavier side, and "Damnation" (acoustic, with some electric guitar solos) to check the softer elements.

i think alot of people here would love the softer, more acoustic Damnation.....if you want to try something new, seriously, get on it.

3+ year bump!

Generally I'm not into that whole scene of progressive metal and death metal but Opeth is probably the only exception. I love Ghost Reveries.

Don't really listen to the band all that much, but To Bid You Farewell is one beautiful piece of music.

Haven't really given these guys much of a listen, but 'Burden' is one hell of a song. I'm playing that at least once or twice a day.

Opeth is incredible. I'm not huge on the one song I've heard from Heritage, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the album. They never disappoint.

Damnation, probably their most accessible. However, this is the song that got me into them:

Taken from Ghost Reveries.

I got into them on a family trip to Italy...Found Damnation on the cd shelves when it came out...it had a bunch of stickers on it saying it was good and that I liked the album cover... That is my all time favorite besides Blackwater park and watershed.
