Internet download help

Um, I wasn't sure where to post this, but I'm sure there are some computer wiz's on here who can help me.
I'm trying to download the newest version of AIM. Everytime I try to download it, it starts to download, but around 18-20%, the download says it's complete. When I try to run the application, it won't run because the download really isn't complete.
This happens at download.com and aim.com.
I read on download.com that Service Pack 2 might have something to do with this. Does anyone know what the problem is, and what I can do to get around it and download AIM?

The only person I know who has Trillian, it never works for them. They can't log on, or messages don't send. Lots of problems.

is this just for aim? or all downloads? do you have sp2? who is your isp, dial up for broadband?

Perhaps they do not know how to work it. It is the best instant messenger program I have ever used.

It is worth figuring out. If they could finally get trillian to woork with aim's get file id uninstall aim

I have a friend who uses trillian, works fine for him as far as I can tell.

I love Trillian because it defines words, has auto spell checker, you get no viruses, and you can sign on multiple acounts for other instant messenger programs, such as AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ and IRC.

I just have this problem for AIM. I do have service pack 2. I use a local isp called Netwitz, it's dialup.

dude, when you download and it asks what folder you want to save to change the name or add a number on the end...its probbly trying to save under a diffrent name and it thinks its done...

i still use aim. but trillian seems a lot better from what i have heard. i dont think it has really caught on here yet. i will have to try it when i get my new computer.
