Most people have heard the cartel and although it is a good pop punk cd, in no way shape or form is it my album fo the year. And I cant say i could ever really get into coheed even though i used to try often.

as of now my top 5 are:
1. motion city soundtrack - commit this to memory
2. nightmare of you - s/t
3. sherwood - sing, but keep going
4. gatsby's american dream - volcano
5. the academy is... - almost here

jack's needs more listens and cartel has yet to come out along with thrice, but i think that those 5 are pretty much set.
i agree with you on 2 and 4, sir. the rest i would have to give some more listens probably. i don't think commit this to memory is as good as i am the movie, though.

i know a lot of people will disagree with my number 1, but i think it's a lot more cohesive than i am the movie. that cd has some great great songs, but i don't feel it flows a whole as well as commit this to memory does. and with the me ewwing coheed, don't take offense i'm just not a fan. although i am a fan of you ;)

hey The Starting Line, in my opinion, put out one of the all around best records to come out this year. they did everything they needed to in order to grow as a band from SILYMI.
